Akdong Musician, also known as AKMU, will be heading to Singapore to have their first showcase 'AKMU STUDIO IN SINGAPORE' on 9 December 2016. Ahead of their showcase, the duo, consists of siblings Lee Chan Hyuk and Lee Su Hyun, took some time to answer a few of our questions via email. 

KpopStarz: How has K-Pop changed for you since you started out? What change has been most surprising for you?

AKMU: Until few years ago, there was more dance music with great choreograph. However, nowadays if you see charts, there are various genre, even some indie music. Especially there are lots of hip hop and R&B genre on chart. For us who like all genre, we think it is better if it's diverse.

KpopStarz: Should you introduce Akdong Musician (AKMU) to someone who had never heard your songs before, which song do you think best represents Akdong Musician(AKMU)?

AKMU: All songs express AKMU. However we would like to recommend '200%' the genre which is loved by a lot of people.

KpopStarz: You have held AKMU STUDIO in Taipei earlier this month. How was it and how do you feel? How is it different to perform outside Korea?

AKMU: We had AKMU Camp in Korea. This time, we started international tour with AKMU Studio. We were worried because we were not sure there would be people in other countries to see our show. But we were touched so much when there were a lot of fans in AKMU Studio in Taipei. Singapore show is our second show and we are really looking forward to it.

KpopStarz: What was it like meeting with international fans? Can you share a memorable/surprising moment with international fans?

AKMU: People with different language and culture gathering together in AKMU Studio was very touching. We are really excited for our next tour.

KpopStarz: You have released Spring Vol.1 in May. When will the second part of the Spring album be released?

AKMU: We know a lot of people are waiting for this. We could not say specifically because details are not decided yet. We are in final check for 'Puberty part.2' album and hope we could meet before the weather gets warm.

KpopStarz: Before you debuted, was there a piece of memorable advice your sunbae(s)/seniors/family gave you?

AKMU: We prepared our debut with little pressure so we tried not to think about the score but we couldn't help it. People who knew all of these and tried to cheer us remembers a lot. Family, YG and friends, there are so many memorable people and we thank everyone.

KpopStarz: When not practising/writing music, what does Akdong Musician (AKMU) usually do?

Su Hyun: I like to go outside and hang out. Shopping or eating. So I gain weight a lot during hiatus. On the other hand, my brother loves to stay at home. He sometimes doesn't eat so he loses weight. That's why I often say that I want to be my brother (don't have to get stress on gaining weight).

KpopStarz: What upcoming Akdong Musician (AKMU) event or project are you the most excited about and why?

AKMU: We are expecting on 'Puberty part.2' album in process. We would try hard in various ways to meet our fans. Alike 'Puberty part.1' we prepared 'Puberty part.2' in a long time, we are expecting it very much.
