BTS's Jin and V got a little too steamy at MAMA 2016; Group's fiery performance best of the night

The 2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards was truly a night filled with explosive performances and unforgettable moments. With the goal of recognizing the best of what Asia has to offer, many of Korea's brightest stars and talents gathered in Hong Kong in celebration of MAMA 2016.
But there is no doubt that with all the stars present during the event, BTS definitely is one of the biggest stars of the night.

MAMA 2016 offered many performances to thrill the audiences but one can argue that out of all the acts that had performed, BTS gave the best performance of them all.

BTS's performances began with one of their members, possibly Jungkook, suspended in the air, a reference to the group's "Blood, Sweat and Tears" music video. Afterwards, the scene quickly shifts towards J-Hope taking hold of the entire stage with a breathtaking dance and would then be joined by a blindfolded Jimin.

Backed by "Boy Meets Evil," the two danced together in synchronicity, fluidly mirroring each other's movements while the stage background portrays them as opposites, like fire and ice.

After that, the group then performed their hit single "Blood, Sweat and Tears" with the audience roaring in support.

Just when you think their performance was over and the boys have already vacated the stage, V then appears and walks over to a kneeling Jin. He then exposes his bare back, showcasing the same pair of scars placed where his wings should be.

Afterwards, V then covers Jin's eyes the same way he did in the music video. You can only imagine the surprise and excitement of the entire arena on the scene taking place.

There was definitely a lot of awkward sexual tension between the two but before the audience could focus on that, "Fire" then begins to play. The whole scene became a fiery paradise as the boys of BTS ascended the stage.

With faces glistening in sweat, Jin, V, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, Jungkook and Rap Monster then gives their all for a final performance before they are joined by hordes of backup dancers, the perfect ending to a perfect performance.

BTS would go on to win two awards that night with "Best Dance Performance Male Group" and "Artist of the Year," Soompi reports.

You can definitely say that 2016 is the year of BTS as it is the year when the boys' popularity skyrocketed in both overseas and at home. In fact, according to The Korea Herald, their latest album "WINGS" peaked as high as no. 26 on the Billboard 200 chart, the highest ever rank that a K-Pop act had achieved and dethroning 2NE1's "Crush" which earlier placed at no. 64.

Congratulations to BTS and may they win more major awards in the future!
