This past week, YG Entertainment has teased two much talked about announcements, 2NE1 leader CL's first solo debut and 2NE1's upcoming comeback.  But beyond their teaser photos and an official statement of CL's actual solo debut drop date (May 28th, by the way), Kpop's most influential entertainment company has stayed mum about the whole thing.

Now on Taeyang's birthday, while it is expected that they greet the popular BIG BANG member for his special day, YG Entertainment released a graphic art similar to the style of CL and 2NE1's announcements.  The photo post didn't include any other kind of caption, hinting at the same 'silence' strategy that YG is using for the other announcements. 

In January 2013, YG announced that BIG BANG will focus on solo activities in 2013.  Daesung already debuted with his solo album in Japan to much success, and G-DRAGON is currently touring for his solo tour.  Is it Taeyang's turn next?  

Taeyang has established a name for himself, apart from being a BIG BANG member, with his successful solo work in previous years.  In the US, it's not uncommon to hear Taeyang as the first name mentioned as a BIG BANG member in random conversations among non-Kpop fans.  "I only know Taeyang. 'Wedding Dress' was awesome." "I want to check the BIG BANG concert out, Taeyang from 'Wedding Dress' is there, right?' are statements often heard among non-Kpop Asian-American circles. 

Taeyang's last solo release was in 2010, for the album 'Solar', which even had an international edition release.
