Psy will take the podium in Canada, not as a lecturer, but as a co-host at 'MUCH MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS, known as MMVA.

The music video award ceremony will take place on June 16.

After numerous performances and guest lectures, this will be a first for Psy, as he has never taken the microphone as a host overseas.

Psy stated with excitement, "I am incredibly happy to be given the opportunity to co-host and also put on a performance. I hope to meet a lot of fans in Canada."

The executive director of 2013 MMVA, Sheila Sullivan, shared the reason for selecting Psy as a co-host for the upcoming ceremony. "His explosive energy and humor will work very well with what we try to do here at MMVA," she told.

MMVA has invited numerous world stars to host and perform for the ceremony in the past. Most notably, Justin Bieber, Katie Perry, LMFAO and Flo Rida put together a performance in last year's event.
