Will Dara be debuting with a new album this summer? Dara talks about the possibility on a café interview for upcoming film "One Step"

During the interview, Dara stated that she wanted her first solo album to be released this year. However, she has not spoken with YG Entertainment's CEO yet, reports All Kpop.

Dara also thinks that if an article about her solo album comes up, YG Entertainment would certainly give her a call. She jokingly added that YG Entertainment would call her and say that the album will be released this summer.

Also in the interview, Dara discussed about her "going solo" career. "I was able to live comfortably as a member of 2NE1," said Dara. "From now on, I have to march out to the battlefield on my own. I will live headstrong in the harsh world. It's time to live the 3rd chapter of my life," she further added.

Meanwhile, Dara broadcasted live in Naver's V Live app to chat with the fans on March 29. She sat with the major casts of "One Step".

According to Soompi, Dara expressed how difficult it was for her to sing for the movie's OST because she was showcasing her voice. Dara is used to singing in a group after all.

"One Step" is Dara's first ever movie in Korea. She will play the role of Si Hyun, a girl who has lost her memories.

"One Step's" story will follow Dara's character as she tries to recover all her lost memories. Dara's character will be accompanied by a genius composer by the name if Jee Il played by Cho Dong In.

"One Step" is directed by Jeon Jae Hong. Director Jeon Jae Hong's most notable works include the movies "Poongsan" and "Beautiful".

Dara has previously worked with 6 movies when she was still in the Philippines. She recently did a cameo for the 2017 movie "My Ex and Whys" with Star Cinema Productions in the country.
