Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung Shares How She Was Mistaken As Adult When 12 Years Old

Sooyoung was featured in tvN's "Taxi" on May 17 episode. The singer opened up about her early debut story prior to Girls' Generation and how she was often mistaken as an adult even when she was just 12 years old.

According to Allkpop, Sooyoung shared that she actually debuted in Japan when she was 12 years old. In turns out Sooyoung was a contestant in a popular Japanese singing competition "Asayan's Korea-Japan Ultra Idol Duo Edition", similar to "K-Pop Star" in Korea. She recalled that she looked exactly the same like she is now 15 years ago.

Because of her mature appearance, people wouldn't believe if the tall, super thin girl was only 12 years old. She also remembered how people around her staring at her like they didn't get why girl her age dressed like an adult, Soompi reported.

During the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan, Sooyoung participated in an audition for a South Korea/Japan idol group and she was selected to debut. Sooyoung was able to beat more than 15,000 participants for the price of the debut with an idol group for 3 years.

Sooyoung was also accompanied by her sister Choi Soo Jin on "Taxi". The sisters talked about what they find lovable in a man. Choi Soo Jin said she likes skinny cute boys, while Sooyoung is into manly guys with broad shoulders and facial hair. As for personality, Sooyoung prefers a man who is generous, and loving but never afraid to try new challenges.

Choi Soo Jin teased her sister and said that she and her boyfriend Jung Kyung Ho is the ultimate relationship goal. She said that only Jung Kyung Ho who can understand Sooyoung's temper. Sooyoung's sister compliments Jung Kyung Ho for his warm and funny personality. Choi Soo Jin added, sometimes, Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho looked like they're fighting but it turned out they're only joking around.
