Will BIGBANG T.O.P's Drug Scandal Affect G-Dragon's Solo Comeback? VIPs Rally Behind BIG BANG Leader

Will BIGBANG leader G-Dragon be affected by the recent drug scandal involving BIGBANG rapper T.O.P.?  G-Dragon is set to release his solo comeback "Kwon Ji Yong" next week and is set to kick off his 19 city world tour on June 10.

Fans are asking whether or not G-Dragon's upcoming projects will be negatively affected by reports about T.O.P's drug charges after he was found positive of marijuana in a recent drug test conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency a week before G-Dragon's much awaited comeback . T.O.P., who is currently serving as a conscripted police officer in the Gangnam District as part of his two-year mandatory service is now facing investigation from the prosecutor's office for violation of drug laws in South Korea.

With recent developments, G-Dragon's own experience involving marijuana investigation is being dredged up online by some netizens. It can be recalled that in 2011, G-Dragon was accused of using marijuana after he was found positive of the substance by a drug test. However. G-Dragon denied using cannabis and cited that the results may be due to a party that he attended at the time. The prosecutor's office dropped indictment proceedings after they proved that G-Dragon did not actively use marijuana together with evidence that the result of the test was a weak positive, matching the BIGBANG leader's claim, Soompi reported.

While some VIPs, BIGBANG's official fandom are worried of the adverse impact of T.O.P's drug case against G-Dragon's solo album and world tour, many have been rallying the fandom on social media to stay strong and to support G-Dragon's album, which is purportedly his most personal and saddest album to date. This is the first time that G-Dragon is using his real name as a title for an album or track, indicating that this will bear his most personal message to his fans, Kpopstarz reported.

G-Dragon has announced that he will be releasing his album  and MV for the title track on June 8 at 6 pm, two days before he performs at the sold out Seoul World Cup Stadium on June 10 to kick off his "Act III: MOTTE" concert tour. G-Dragon sold out the 65,000 seater stadium in less than eight minutes as soon as the tickets were made available and has reportedly sold out many of his concert venues in different countries as well. This may be G-Dragon's final project before he is expected to enlist in the military later this year.
