U.K. Actor Tom Holland Insults Eric Nam During V Live Interview

Eric Nam recently welcomed Tom Holland and his co-stars from 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' in South Korea with a live interview on Naver 'V-Live.' The interview was going quite smoothly and was all fun until a slip of the tongue from Tom Holland made the atmosphere quite awkward.

During the interview, the subtitles and translation services weren't working properly, so Eric being the bi-lingual idol that he is, decided to provide live translations throughout the interview. While translating and transitioning back and forth between English and Korean, Tom Holland suddenly questions how Eric Nam learned English saying, "You speak great English, though, man. How did you learn English?"

Eric Nam casually replied, “I’m American. So, you know…there you go. Surprise!” Despite Eric's laid-back response, it seemed a little bit awkward as Tom Holland's co-stars started questioning when and where he learned Korean. Check out Eric's response in the video below around the 12:50 mark.

The remark from Tom Holland sparked a bit of controversy among netizens and fans of the popular singer. Many stated that, despite Eric being born in America, Tom's question showcases the idea that white Americans still view other ethnicities as outsiders or not belonging.
