Fashion Tips From H:CONNECT Global Brand Spokesperson YOONA : "Wear Things That Suit You The Most!"

H:Connect global brand spokesperson - YOONA, a South Korean singer and actress best known for being the visual member of the legendary girl group Girls' Generation (SNSD), was here in Singapore to promote H:CONNECT x YOONA fan-meeting on Saturday, 21 July 2018 at Bugis Junction.

KpopStarz was invited to the exclusive press conference, together with other local media.

The session started with YOONA sharing fashion tips on casual wear, formal wear and airport fashion. YOONA stressed that "it is important to dress according to the occasion, be it in a casual or formal setting, comfort should be the key factor." She usually takes her time to choose her clothes carefully and plans what to wear the night before, although at times, she will just wear what comes to her mind.

About her change in style from super laid-back to girly in Hyori's Bed and Breakfast, YOONA mentioned that she had to work, she chose comfortable clothes. During the spring season, her focus was on comfy clothes which match the vibrance of the season.

The commercial (CF) Queen of SNSD prefers T-shirt and denim jeans when asked on the type of clothes in her closet.

She used to like wearing simple dresses during summer but these days she prefers mature-looking apparels. The most important accessories for her during summer is hat with large shades, as it helps to protect against harmful UV rays.

YOONA's choice apparels for this summer includes skirt paired with pretty printed T-shirts for ladies, whereas for guys, she suggested "basic style with less patterns, just simple basic style would be nice". 

Many fans are curious if she has a separate 'Instagram" wardrobe which the actress responded that what is seen on her Instagram is what she usually wears on casual days or prior to her usual schedule. 

She stressed that she does not follow any specific fashion icon, instead she thinks wearing what suits her best is the most important in styling.

The Veteran singer claimed that she takes a long time to style herself, be it for a casual day out with friends, movie night, or on a date, since many people will be taking photos of her, she wants to show her best at all times. On the amount of time she takes to dress up, YOONA mentioned she doesn't time herself in deciding what to wear before the events or the start of the day. Sometimes she will just wears what comes to her mind.

She previously visited Singapore in 2013 to perform with Girls' Generation. She remembers Singapore as a very clean country so she feels energized to be back here to meet her fans. In line with her shikshin (Goddess of food) title, YOONA fondly remembers Singapore's famous chilli crabs, but these days, she likes pepper crabs too.

Being an ambassador, she finds that H:Connect offers a wide range of clothes from casual to fashionable wear. YOONA is happy to see many fans wearing H: Connect clothes. Her top 3 picks out of H:Connect's current series for ladies are basic style t-shirts, denim jeans and dresses.

A style that she will pick for her future boyfriend includes a slacks or shorts with a simple t-shirt as it pulls off an uncomplicated yet trendy look.

Being a top Hallyu star, YOONA wants her fans all over the world to remember and cherish every moment as they grow together.

To end the Press Conference, the friendly star who acted in China's "God of War" drama shared her thoughts "I'm very happy to be back in Singapore, because my fans are very enthusiastic and passionate. If there are opportunities, I looks forward to return in the near future" in fluent mandarin.

An hour after the Press Conference, YOONA showed up at the outdoor atrium of Bugis Junction dressed in a feminine white blouse with blue skirt to meet her fans.

One of the interesting question that was posted to the ambassador focused on the current fashion trend in Korea which she responded, "There is no specific trend in Korea right now, but the most important thing is to bring out your own charm, characteristics and wear things that suit you the most". Simple is the key to her fashion.

The highlights of the event was when the emcee asked YOONA to show 3 different summer selfie poses. Fans yearn to see her aeygo, so she did 3 cute poses on stage to satisfy them, leading to them literally screaming in excitement.

On top of that, she shared on her personal plans such as her plans for a fan-meeting as well as movie. As for plans relating to the group, they recently filmed a reality show which will be coming up soon.

To mark YOONA's visit to Singapore as the global ambassador of H:Connect, a T-shirt was presented to the singer cum actress onstage for her signature.

Although many were present to show their support, only 50 lucky fans who had each spent a minimum of $320 at H: Connect, had a chance to go onstage to get her autograph. Many fans brought flowers, cards and gifts for YOONA. She was happy to receive them.

3 top spenders were exclusively invited onstage where YOONA styled them in the current summer apparel series from H: Connect, thereafter, taking an individual photo with each of them. Some were shy but there were others bold enough to have their photo taken while forming hearts with YOONA's hands, making others envious of their interactions.

The event concluded with YOONA speech to her fans:

 "I'm very happy to be back again and will create more opportunities to come back. Thank you for your support, please take care and see you all soon. "

YOONA's fans prepared a special segment where everyone held customized pink balloons together to show their love. She was surprised and touched to witness the scene, especially when her fans had thoughtfully chosen pink balloons, with pink being the color that represented Girls' Generation.

The charismatic singer taught her fans to do an alphabet H with their fingers for the group photos with her. The fan-meeting ended successfully and we look forward to her return soon.
