Blackpink Stuns in Debut Coachella Performance

Two months after their electrifying US television debut, the girls of Blackpink -- Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa -- have once again stunned foreign audiences with their first-ever Coachella stint on April 12, Friday.

The K-pop phenomenon performed a total of 13 songs, opening their performance with their chart-topping 2018 banger, "Ddu-Du DDu-Du." Their nearly one-hour set also included show-stopping renditions of their hits such as "Forever Young," "Whistle," "Stay," "See U Later," "Playing With Fire," "Boombayah," and "As If It's Your Last."

The acclaimed quartet further debuted a new song called "Kick It," while Jennie also brought her LSS-inducing solo release aptly titled "Solo."

Completing their setlist are their performances of "Kill This Love," "Don't Know What To Do," and their Dua Lipa collab, "Kiss and Make Up."

According to Lisa, all members of Blackpink were all "excited" to perform at the annually-held event. With their stint, the ladies have made history as the first Korean girl group to be included in the stellar and diverse line-up of the famed music fest.

Speaking to the huge crowd, Rosé shared that "coming all the way from South Korea, we didn't know what to expect." But receiving cheers and "Blackpink in your area!" chants from the ecstatic audience members, it was safe for her to conclude that music indeed brings people together.

Despite them and their fans coming from "totally different worlds" - and with their songs mostly featuring lyrics in the Korean language - Blackpink was evidently grateful to see the Coachella crowd sing along to their songs.

Their hotly-anticipated performance at the Indio, California-situated festival was also live-streamed on "The Beast" screen in the iconic New York City Time Square, courtesy of video-streaming giant YouTube.

Their Coachella debut comes over a week after they dropped their newest EP, "Kill This Love." The five-track offering includes the record-breaking titular track, "Don't Know What To Do," "Kick It," "Hope Not," and a remix of "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du."

Blackpink is expected to stun more Blinks in America as they embark in the North American leg of their "In Your Area" world tour. The series of shows will kick off on April 17 at The Forum in Los Angeles, California.

They will also bring their electrifying showmanship in key areas including Illinois, Ontario, New Jersey, Atlanta, and Texas. Their North American tour is presented by YG Entertainment in partnership with Powerhouse Live.

Their foray into the global music scene is made possible through YG's landmark partnership with leading music companies, Universal Music Group (UMG) and Interscope.
