Deadly San Antonio Floods Kill 29-Year-Old Woman Trapped in Car; Over 100 Rescued From Homes And Cars [VIDEO]

Flooding in San Antonio on Saturday killed one 29-year-old woman who was trapped in her car and was drowned in the floodwaters. One another person has gone missing, and around 130 persons were rescued from homes and cars.

Around 10 inches of rain have been recorded for the San Antonio International Airport since midnight until Saturday afternoon.

The San Antonio floods have turned deadly, as a woman was trapped in her car during the flooding. As she tried to climb upon the roof, she was swept away by the rising waters.

Christian Bove, spokesperson for the San Antonio Fire Department, reported that rescue workers found her body later against a fence nearby.

Another individual who was trapped in another vehicle has also gone missing, and rescue workers are still looking for signs of where this individual may possibly be.

Officials said that the floodwater due to the rain is very deep and has gone up to 4 feet high in some homes, thus many more victims may be found in the continuing search.

Rescue workers have also saved the lives of nearly 130 persons who were trapped in their homes and vehicles by using inflatable boats.

The rain that fell on Saturday was the second most rainfall ever in the history of San Antonio, Texas. This is a rare flooding that has not occurred since 1998, which had over 11 inches of rainfall.

Although the rain has mostly subsided, Mayor Julian Castro advised San Antonio residents not to drive their vehicles for the time being.

The Mayor stated, "Many roads throughout the city continue to be impassable and dangerous. Just because it's not raining at the moment, does not mean that the threat has passed."

The Mayor urged residents not to ignore the low-water warnings, as even a city bus had been swept away by the flood.
