EXO's Suho Opens Up on being Ambassador for 7th Animal Film Festival In Suncheonman

Given his outstanding reputation as a Korean drama actor, musical theater actor, and the leader of The Nation's Pick, EXO, it's not surprising to see Suho, real name Kim Junmyeon, often gracing formal, posh, and snazzy occasions. On Wednesday, he participated in the 7th Animal Film Festival in Suncheonman as the official event ambassador.

In the press conference, he has bestowed a glass trophy as the commemoration of his ambassadorship by the Suncheon Mayor Heo Seok. Other important names, such as the programmer Park Hye Mi and executive director Park Jung Sook, also attended the affair.

Suho, who was also dubbed as the event's "guardian angel," opened up about his appointment.

"I am happy and excited to become the ambassador for a film festival that is based on the theme of finding happiness with animals. I have a lot of interest in animals because I've spent so much time with my dog Byul. We all live busy lives, but we all need to think more about nature and animals," the EXO's leader stated.

A festival official then opened up on why the idol is a good fit for the honorary position.

"We hope that with the protection of our ambassador, more people will be able to enjoy and share the spirit of the Suncheon Bay World Animal Film Festival," the official shared.

A number of Suho's photos taken during the ceremony made waves on various social networking sites. Suho was dressed neatly in a suit and his hair slicked back, enough to beguile his plethora of fans around the globe.

Suho currently reigns as the honorary ambassador for the 13th Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF).

The EXO's leader, not only known as a Hallyu star but has also made a name for himself in the realm of films and television. He starred in "Student A" in 2018, and in "One Way Trip" in 2016. He also headlined in the romantic comedy series "Rich Man, Poor Woman" in 2018 and "The Universe's Star" in 2017.

Aside from these, Suho also proved that he's more than just someone who possesses god-tier vocals as he had showcased his splendid acting capabilities in the musicals "The Last Prince" and "The Man Who Laughs." The latter is where he became the recipient of three awards as a rookie musical actor.

In his last musical, Suho portrayed the role of Gwynplaine, a horrifyingly disfigured man whose smile is hideous, and who resembles the iconic villain Joker. This was why the idol-actor chose to play such a role.

"I like the Joker character very much, and the Joker is a character derived from 'The Man Who Laughs.' I wanted an opportunity to audition for that character, and I was lucky enough to be cast for the role," the EXO's leader shared in an interview.
