After two years of promoting, Marmello announced that they are disbanding. On Instagram, the members posted a lengthy open letter to their fans to relay the saddening news - who they endearing call Marmalade - and thanked them for their support through thick and thin.

Guitarist Youna wrote a statement, both in Korean and in English, saying, "The reason for the dismantling is not [just one] reason, but a combination of various things, so it is difficult to explain. I'm very sorry that I have not been able to repay the love I have received and have a disappointing answer to your waiting."

She went on, "The love and attention I received during my activities were undeserved and filled with dream stages and unforgettable memories. [To the] many people who helped with the production and activities, Marmalade who always supported and loved [us], fellow musicians who helped us with our music, and our MARMELLO members, [I am] very thankful and grateful."

The female guitarist concluded her letter by saying, "Now we are talking about the end, but in the meantime, we were preparing for a new start. I hope you will be able to watch and cheer for us as we dream new dreams in another place."

In her own post, Gaeun said, "I'm very sorry to be delivering this unfortunate news after not greeting you for a long time. After long discussions between the members, MARMELLO has decided to stop activities."

The band's now-ex-drummer expressed her gratitude to their fans and also promised that she will meet them again in the future.

"It was because of all of you who made MARMELLO shine that I was able to make precious and unforgettable memories. I played drums while receiving so much love and gaining various experiences. Please cheer on the other members as we go our separate ways. I have also been preparing to stand before you again, so please look kindly on my future activities," she shared.

For Hyeona, their vocalist, the brief time they promoted together was significant.

"The times we spent promoting were very fun and meaningful. I am really sorry and thankful for our fans who have been waiting for news of our activities. Although MARMELLO's activities have concluded, this will be a new start in which we each take steps towards our dreams. I would be grateful if you can cheer us on," she said in her post.
