SM Entertainment Denies Fans' Claim They Rejected Ads For f(x)'s 10th Anniversary

SM Entertainment has denied the claims of MeUs that the agency giant rejected proposed ads for f(x)'s 10th anniversary. A source from the company related to Star News their response to the claim.

"It's not true. We were never contacted by the advertising agency regarding this matter," the representative said.

This was after a media outlet stated that the quartet's - comprised of Krystal, Amber, -- global fan support team, named FX-OXYGEN, already released previews of the project ads in COEX Mall for f(x)'s 10th birthday. Alongside the photos, the team elucidated, "We plan to run a total of 42 ads in Seoul's largest shopping mall, COEX Mall, including ads on hallway pillars and information pillars. We plan to run over a total of 150 ads on f(x)'s debut anniversary of September 5."

However, FX-OXYGEN took to Weibo afterward, detailing that SM Entertainment turned down the ads.

"We received a notice about the project being banned. After sending the information and blueprint to SM Entertainment, we received notice that the ads are not allowed due to a 'company reasons' and they said 'it's unavoidable.' The event we prepared for f(x)'s 10th debut anniversary has failed. We're currently in the process of issuing refunds [for the advertisement costs]," the fan support group wrote.

f(x) debuted in 2009 and has been loved by many ever since. Sulli, sadly, departed from the girl group in 2015, prompting f(x) to promote as four since then. The group has also been on a hiatus for quite some time now, and their last comeback was in the same year when Sulli left, upon releasing their album "4 Walls."

In more recent news, Amber just announced her departure from SM Entertainment following the expiry of her contract. She shared a handwritten letter to her fans on Instagram, both in English and Korean. She, however, did not mention whether she will remain an f(x) member or not.

"Hey everyone, I would like to announce my contract with SM Entertainment has ended today, and I have decided to part ways with the company. From the bottom of my heart, I'd like to thank everyone who believed in me and have been patient with me all these years. I can't wait to show you what's in store in this next chapter of my career. Again and always, thank you!! Love, peace, and Boba -Llama," she wrote.
