Dan-A and Semmi of girl group MATILDA have announced their departure from Box Media Entertainment.

Semmi started her letter with the sentence: "First of all, I have a heavy heart to greet everyone who has been waiting for us with sad news." She continued and said that her contract with Box Media has ended as of September 3. And after extensive discussion with the company, it has been decided to end her contract.

She further stated, "My fellow members, who are both my friends and colleagues, will all be supporting one another on whatever paths we each take, and as what we have usually done, we will walk side by side."

Semmi then remarked that she was happy and thankful for the past three and a half years she was with the agency. She also thanked the fans for always being by their side even during their long hiatus.

She concluded her letter saying, "I will grow and improve, and I will return. Please support us in the next chapter of our life. I would be grateful if you looked upon us nicely."

As for Dan-A's message, she also mentioned about her leaving the company after a long time of deliberation with Matilda members and Box Media. She expressed her gratitude to the company and fans saying, "Thank you so much to everyone who loved and supported Matilda. Also, thank you to Box Media for their hard work to let us have many different experiences."

Dan-A then talked about her members, stating, "The four of us are going our own ways, but we will stay a team as loving sisters and friends. Remembering the good old days and giving each other support in the future, we will be together forever. Please hope for Haena, Hee Sun (Semi), Saebyeol, and Seung Yeon (Dan-A) in their future activities. I will be filled with gratitude if you support them.

Seung Yeon ended her letter remarking, "I will be back in the not-so-far future! Thank you."

Matilda is a four-member girl group that debuted on March 18, 2016, with the song "Macarena." The girls participated in KBS2's idol reboot project called "The Unit," which ended in early 2018. That same year in November, the group released their latest single titled "Between Fall and Winter."
