SEVENTEEN "Fear" Reveals Change of Music Style, Displays Growth

The singer group SEVENTEEN  achieved success through "Fear". The result proved the team's growth with positive grades in overall aspects including musical quality .

SEVENTEEN released their third album 'An Ode' on September 16th. It was a regular album released in about two years after the second album 'TEEN, Age' in 2017. The group gave much focus on An Ode. Like other albums, Uji took the lead in producing and filling up all the songs with his composition. Most members such as Essex, Vernon, Mingyu, Wonwoo, Diet, Hoshi, and Dino participated in the lyrics and fused the message SEVENTEEN wanted to convey in the album.

The title track "Fear'' is R&B with a sexy style. Based on the heavy sound, the song brings a new charm of Seventeen. They did not lose their unique charm: The Master of Performance. Their stylish choreography fused more attractiveness. Their stage is reaching perfection.

Their music appealed to the public with popularity. Seventeen's third album An Ode was sold 700,000,863 albums (based on the Hinter Chart), more than double the previous album (You Made My Dunn). The album occupied the high rankings at the domestic music charts as well as overseas iTunes K-POP album chart.

SEVENTEEN  is a music group that continually develops.

They made their debut in 2015 and became popular with songs including 'I Love You', 'Long Live' and 'Pretty'. However, SEVENTEEN  did not settle down there and proved that they were strong in powerful performance through 'very NICE', 'Boom Boom' and 'Applause'. In addition, the group extended the genre of music by trying lyrical songs such as 'I don't want to cry', 'Thank you', and 'Home'.

'Fear' is the song that they went one step further. They tried to incorporate the new concepts such as  'Dark' and 'Sexy'. It is remarkable that they erased the innocent posture that was the signature image of the group and revealed their maturity. Their change shows a glimpse of their intense concern about growth.

In 'An Ode' showcase, the members said, "We thought this album was our game, and we worked on it with a fierce will. We were confident that it will be a satisfactory album." SEVENTEEN displayed much more evolved music, performance, and concept. Their well-founded confidence and determination came to fruition. It is the growth that the group themselves proved perfectly.
