Singer IU filed a lawsuit against malicious commenters.

IU management Kakao M stated on its official SNS on Oct 18 that it is trying to take legal action as it determined there is a severe level of libel, sexual harassment, and personal attacks due to reckless, malicious comments directed at IU, therefore taking legal action.

"We filed the first complaint with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on Oct 14 through legal representation. We are preparing to file for additional complaints."

Our company has determined there is a severe level of libel, sexual harassment, and personal attacks occurring through thoughtless malicious comments and the spreading of false rumors about our artist IU, and therefore, we are taking legal action.

We inform you that we have collected related materials through continued monitoring and the collection of content submitted by fans. On Oct 14, we filed a first criminal complaint to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office through a legal representative. Also, we are preparing to submit an additional criminal complaint.

In the future, as well, we will be taking strong action without negotiation or leniency concerning malicious libel, and we will continue to try to eradicate thoughtless spiteful comments.
