EXO is expected to have a comeback this year and will release a new album within the next year. SM Entertainment has confirmed this. According to a Korean News website:

"The group EXO comes back with their 6th album.
EXO agency from SM Entertainment said on October 29, "EXO is preparing a full album. We will release the exact launch schedule soon."

If EXO confirms a comeback within the year, they will release a new song the following year. EXO released their regular 5th album "DON'T MESS UP MY TEMPO" in November last year and in December of the same year, they released their 5th repackage album "LOVE SHOT" (Love Shot).

Exo plans to continue the team activities with a six-member system (Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Kai, Chanyeol, Sehun) without members Siwoomin who joined on May 7, and Dio (Do Kyung-soo) who joined on July 1."
