Former PRISTIN member Kyla has returned to the US to continue her studies. On November 14, while the former singer was in school, an Asian schoolmate opened fire which left two students dead and three wounded.

The suspect was said to be only 16 years old. The Police Department said that the surveillance video showed the suspect take a gun from his backpack and shot 5 people. After the shooting incident, he also shot himself.

Kyla shared her worries in Twitter saying, "My school had a school shooter today. The one thing I was most afraid of when I went back to public school happened. I am okay and all of my friends are safe. My heart goes out to all of the injured students. I pray that they are safe."

She then added, "Painting is the one thing that's helped me cope with what happened today. It still hasn't registered yet and every time I think about what's happened I cry. I'm at a loss for words. We always think "oh this will never happen to me" but then it did."
