It was previously reported that Daesung was reportedly involved with illegal businesses that were run in his Gangnam building. The BIGBANG member has purchased the building in 2017 before he enlisted in the military. The alleged illegal business is said to offer sexual relations to customers.

The bar, which was supposedly located in Daesung's building has been shut down due to tax evasion and prostitution. However, Daesung has always denied the charges that he was involved with the business and has always informed the press and everybody that he didn't know such activity run in his building.

On January 2, just a day after New Year, BIGBANG fans and netizens were happy as the good news broke that Daesung has been cleared of all suspicions. It was released that the idol singer will not be charged with anything. Daesung was questioned in 2019 as a witness. His camp presented documents and testimonies to prove his innocence.

The evidence obtained during the police search and seizure operations were also placed into consideration. The police have also questioned various witnesses about suspected drug use. A drug analysis was also done by the National Forensic Service and it came back negative.

Due to a lack of evidence, Daesung is cleared of all suspicions. However, 56 people will be forwarded to the prosecution with charges related to the anti-prostitution and food sanitation act.
