According to the media outlet Dispatch, several stars have suffered from severe hacking threats on January 8. However, the identities of the celebrities involved are hidden for security purposes.

The hackers have sent the stars a text message asking them the amounts of 50 million Korean won to 1 billion Korean won. That's about 42,500 USD and 850000 USD. If they won't pay the given amount of money, the hacker will release private information like the star's address, cellphone number, etc. The hacker also has private photos and videos of these celebrities that they threaten to spread if they are not compensated properly.

Dispatch has also claimed that one idol singer actually paid the amount in exchange for his privacy. On January 7, another actor Joo Jin Mo also said that recently he has received a message from hackers too. That's why he is more cautious with his messages as the hackers have a way to get copies of conversations he's having with his friends. One of his text exchange with a colleague got spread online.

After the matter has been investigated, Dispatch reported that the hackers are using the Galaxy S model platform in their hacking. Dispatch also suspects that the hacking is done by foreign groups as the messages were not grammatically correct. Also, the victims have a hard time reporting the matter as police won't be able to apprehend them.

Meanwhile, Dispatch claims that the hackers are only targeting celebrities who use the Galaxy S phone models as they know a way to break in the Samsung cloud. It is advised that all galaxy users be wary of the ongoing illegal hacking threat.

Stay tuned for more updates!
