Mayim Bialik, 37, the Blossom child star and actress for the hit television series Big Bang Theory ends her nine year marriage with husband, Micheal Stone.

When announcing the plan to divorce, Mayim was careful to point out that her decision to raise her two sons – Miles, 7, and Frederick, 4- using a controversial parenting method did not play a role in the separation.

The parenting practice that Mayim Bialik employs advocates near constant contact with your children.

The actress, who wrote a book on the subject, encouraged her children to co-sleep, or share a bad with her and her husband.

She also was breastfeeding her youngest until he was four (see video above).

At the time of the divorce, Mayim, who has a Ph.D. in neuroscience – explained their decision to divorce on her blog.

“Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children,” the former child star wrote.

“It is not something we have decided lightly. “

“The hands-on style of parenting we practice played no role in the changes that led to this decision; relationships are complicated no matter what style of parenting you choose.”

“The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible.”

“Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that’s what we are focusing on.”

“We will be ok.”

According to MailOnline, unlike the practice of many Hollywood celebrities who drag out their divorce, the process for Mayim Bialik and husband was fast.

TMZ reports that the Big Bang Theory actress and her husband decided to each have one of their two homes in California.

As part of the divorce settlement for Mayim, who rose to fame as a child star in the series Blossom, she gets the couple’s hillside 1,4000-square-foot one bedroom in Studio City.

Micheal, on the other hand, who was born Mormon but converted to Judaism for Bialik, gets the 1,300-square-foot three bedroom in Sherman Oaks.

The couple is splitting their property this week.
