On the 19th of March, the Korean news outlet confirmed that Lee Chi Hoon had passed away, day after Actor Moon Ji Yoon's death, amidst coronavirus. 

Following the reports, fans and netizens can't help but wonder if they died because of the coronavirus pandemic, as they both showed symptoms that are similar to COVID-19, which is having a sore throat and severe fever. 

However, their agency and families both denied the speculations and announced to the public that Korean artists both undergo coronavirus testing, and the results were both negative. 

It was reported that on the 18th, Moon Ji Yoon's cause of death was confirmed by his agency, releasing an official statement about the tragic death.

According to Family ENT CEO, 

"Ji Yoon is healthy. He had a sore throat, but he fights against it for a few days. I think that he didn't want to consult a doctor (go to a hospital) due to the coronavirus pandemic."

"He tried taking medicines to alleviate his pain, but his mom found him at home in bad condition, that's why he was taken immediately to a hospital."

However, upon his arrival at the hospital, Ji Yoon was transferred into the intensive unit care due to his high temperature, and according to his examination, his organs were already damaged, and his throat was also infected. 

Moon Ji Yoon's cause of death was because of acute sepsis, and not because of coronavirus. 

Meanwhile, Lee Chi Hoon, a famous "ulzzang generation" member, which is a group of beautiful and handsome Koreans, died at the age of 32 years old. Korean press initially reported that Chi Hoon died as well due to acute sepsis, but it was later on changed and edited out, saying, "the cause of death is to be verified yet."

The "flower boys' corporation" band member recently admitted that he is undergoing treatment for lymphadenitis in Afreeca TV, a channel wherein he worked as a broadcast jockey. Lymphadenitis is an inflammation in the neck, causing fever and sore throat, the same symptoms Ji Yoon had. 

He undergoes coronavirus testing as well, and the test came back as negative. However, his health became severe, and he was rushed in the ICU, but unfortunately failed to recover.

Due to this, fans and citizens are now worried if acute sepsis is a kind of disease brought by the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Ecowatch, a website for health and environment, 

"Sepsis can be a threat to life in which a person had organ dysfunction, which is caused by the body's immune system as an overreacting response to infection causing 11 Million deaths worldwide last 2017."

"In addition to this, influenza and other viruses that are highly infectious, such as coronaviruses [...] can also cause sepsis."

However, it is best not to mistake sepsis as a symptom of having coronavirus. Sepsis can be an effect or reaction over the infectious COVID-19; however, a person can test negative to corona even having sepsis.
