While BLACKPINK's Jennie is considered one of the sweetest faces in the K-pop industry, a documentary by a YouTube channel called mera narrated why the idol is one of the most polarizing icons in the realm.

The video, titled "Jennie: the 'Villain' of Kpop," was uploaded on December 11, 2019, with over 613 thousand views to date. Although the documentary admitted that she stands by her opinion about criticizing YG Entertainment, it does not mean that the video is directly attacking the agency as she claims it as a separate judgment.

The video started with Jennie Kim's pre-debut clips at a very young age as well as her struggles to finally land a spot in the YG girl group.

Later on, their early years as BLACKPINK are being compared to the latter portion of her performances. Her lazy scandal was shredded into pieces to give an idea about what could have been the reason for her sudden lack of energy on stage, of which the audience criticized her.

Aside from that, the video talks about how she is being the favorite girl of YG, or the so-called "the Princess" among all, also claiming that netizens noticed it ever since.

Her dating scandal with EXO's Kai was never an exemption in the documentary, as it claims that YG did its best to cover up the flames of the intrigue.

"Then when she commits suicide, people will blame everyone but themselves. 'wE lOvE u JeNnY rIp!'"

"I hate how when men are badass and doesn't give a f*** they're even more adored but when women act the same way they get called lazy and spoiled"

"I actually cried multiple types, Jennie doesn't deserve this."

Although the documentary may have detailed every bit of information to paint her as someone polarizing in the entertainment industry of South Korea, in the end, BLACKPINK members and Blinks love her. It also gives an avenue of understanding that Jennie might be misunderstood by many, that she is not the "K-pop Villain" that haters want her to be.
