Ex-EXO’s Luhan Trends After U.S. Politician Misrefers COVID-19 as “Luhan Virus”

Luhan, popular Chinese soloist and former EXO member, suddenly trended in the US Politics section after Joe Biden, former Vice President of the United States, mistaken "Wu Han Virus" as "Luhan Virus."

During Biden's live meeting between the frontliners of America, including nurses, firefighters, emergency staffs, he mistakenly uttered "Luhan virus" but he was actually pertaining to "Wu Han," or the place in China where the virus perpetrated, now infamously known as the coronavirus (COVID-19).

In a viral video where the American politician slipped, he was formally addressing the pandemic, which is severely infecting the continents around the globe, causing the worldwide lockdown every individual is experiencing right now. Everything was going well, until he mentioned the C-pop idol's name, who is currently a prominent name in China as an actor and singer.

This then stirred up confusion among the US politicians and made K-pop and C-pop fans hyped up about the singer after trending in the "Politics" category of the US press and media. In addition to this, US locals suddenly got interested in the idol's identity and felt sorry for him as the former Vice President referred him as a "virus."  "While Trump is fighting the Chinese virus, Biden is already fighting the next pandemic, the 'Luhan' virus."

Nevertheless, the mystery to the unforeseen inclination of Luhan to US politics was solved, and fans were somehow relieved as it sparks fear anxiousness to the fans, given that Biden was talking about the virus.

Meanwhile, despite the fear and at the same time the humor it brought, some netizens can't help but comment negatively on the mistake of the former US Vice President as he was not aware of the name of the virus the world is fighting.

On the other hand, amidst the slip-up, Luhan's fans were clowning the artist in social media platforms such as Twitter, saying, "If Luhan is the virus, then I'll let him infect me."

Another one said, "We are already infected by the 'Luhan virus', and there's no way someone can cure it."

Also, a video of Luhan, along with his former co-member Tao, who is also an ex-member of EXO, previously trended, warming up the hearts of their fans and OT12 EXO-Ls for the members still keep in touch despite walking on separate career paths as solo artists in China.

In the video, the two were re-creating a TikTok video challenge, and the closeness of the two can be seen. Also, on March, fans were touched as a netizen posted about their interaction, wherein Tao was seen entering Luhan's car. This was, according to fans, because Tao has a phobia of flights or heights.

It was recently announced that the two artists would also be working together through a music program "Produce Camp 2020", a counterpart of the Korean's produce-idol show, "Produce101," and fans can't wait to see the two artists interactintg more.
