EXO Kai Accepts Super Junior Siwon's Challenge To Honor Medical Frontliners 

EXO Kai joined the many celebrities in South Korea in honoring the frontliners amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Kai shared a photo of him while doing the "respect" hand sign on his Instagram account. This is his acceptance to Super Junior's Siwon's challenge to express gratefulness to the heroes who are battling against COVID-19.

In Kai's caption on his post on May 8, he wrote, "Thanks to the medical staff, Korea is overcoming the Coronavirus 19 crisis together."

He continued, "I'm going to continue with Choi Siwon of Super Junior. I pay my respects to the medical staff who work day and night to overcome Corona 19. I respect you. Thank you."

Earlier, Siwon did the hand sign challenge and he challenged the EXO member and SHINee's Taemin to do the hand sign. He said in his Instagram update, "The next whom I believe will do the challenge is SHINee Taemin @lm_____ltm, EXO Kai @zkdlin. Let's cheer together with a warm heart! I hope our support for the medical team can serve to boost their security."

Kai reciprocated, and in return, he chose his idol friend to do it. 

"The next person I will challenge is VIXX Ravi," he said, to which Ravi affirmed.

The hand sign challenge has been drawing attention among the citizens and celebrities in South Korea, paying tribute to the heroes of this current global health crisis, the ones who are working hard to fight the plague.

South Korea is was among the countries with the highest number of confirmed cases but has successfully managed to flatten the curve. South Korea now has the lowest mortality rate in the world. And as of press time, a total of 9,568 have recovered from the virus.

UNICEF has appointed Choi Siwon of Super Junior as East Asia and Pacific's Regional Ambassador at an event in the country of Laos. Prior to his appointment, he has been active for about four years towards children's issues as he became a Special Representative for UNICEF in Korea. He greatly supported the agency's campaign against bullying, and also participated in certain projects to end this problem.

A lot of South Korean celebrities accepted the hand sign challenge and shared their photos on their SNS. Apart from EXO's Kai and Super Junior's Siwon, Kai's co-member Chanyeol, ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, Sandara Park, and many more partook in acknowledging the frontliners, which is also to tell the nation to join hands altogether to fight the silent enemy.
