VIXX Marks Their 8th Debut Anniversary!
VIXX commemorated the 8th anniversary of their debut on May 24!
VIXX was the very first Korean pop band to launch under Jellyfish Entertainment. It was established through the television program "MyDOL."
The band debuted with the single "Super Hero" in 2012. After having taken on a wide range of fictional and sci-fi-based concepts in music videos, such as "On and On," "Hyde," "Voodoo Doll," "Error," "Chained Up," and "Shangri-La," the group became widely recognized as "concept idols," and their three-part album installment "Conception."
In 2019, their contract terms with Jellyfish Entertainment were renewed and extended by Leo, Ken, Hongbin, and Hyuk. Ravi stays a member of VIXX but is now a member of GROOVL1N Records, his own company. Following his departure from the military, N's contractual discussions will take effect.
While also, in 2020, both N and Leo had enlisted in the army, whereas Hongbin was on temporary vacation from the band's operation activities. Ken, who launched a solo album previously, will be joining the military this summer.
Ken, Ravi, and Hyuk have sent updates to their supporters in a Twitter clip.
Ken said, "This is Ken, the cutie main vocal of VIXX. VIXX finally made it to our eighth anniversary! Thank you very much to our families, to our (supporters) babies, to the Jellyfish management, and bandmates."
He went on, "Much like our seventh and sixth anniversary celebrations, now that we have achieved our eighth anniversary. I felt the need to tell everybody that appreciates us this. Thank you so, so much, and I love you. I just released a new album. Please, give it plenty of encouragement and affection. I would like to see you, my babies and my band friends. I always love you."
On the other hand, Ravi said, "Hey, this is Ravi. It's our eighth anniversary, at last! Over the last eight years, There had been lots of good moments and tough times, but thank you for always brilliantly sparkling alongside us."
Ravi added, "I just want to see more of you on tour, stage, and spend quality time with all of you, so I wish these tough times will quickly disappear and so we can spend a bit more time around each other. Thank you for the eight years of journey with us. Let's just live together for longer! I love you and appreciate you."
Hyuk said, "Hi everyone, this is the maknae Hyuk of VIXX. VIXX has landed at our eighth anniversary indeed, somehow. Huge congrats on turning eight, VIXX! Truthfully, it's a rough time for everybody right now, but I'm sure everybody feels both frustrated and regrettable."
Hyuk added he's precisely the same after all these years, and continued, "But, just as before, just as still, and much like in the prospect, as long as VIXX and Starlights (VIXX's fandom name) stay on each other's side, we will resolve this all together. I wish the moment will come soon when we can recollect fantastic memories again."
Ken and Hyuk posted a picture they had taken along with a cake on Instagram to commemorate the occasion. Around the same day, Hyuk goes to cheer around Ken, who was appearing on "Inkigayo" as a solo act. Afterward, the two also conducted a V Live stream to celebrate their anniversary with their fans.
