Lee Su Hyun of AKMU decided to join Bang Ye Dam of TREASURE to sing a rendition of his pre-debut single Wayo!

On June 15, Lee Su Hyun posted their duet cover on her YouTube channel and mentioned that for the first time in the last seven years, she Bang Ye Dam managed to meet again. Both artists performed on "K-Pop Star 2," the first AKMU, and the next Bang Ye Dam, all contracted by YG Entertainment from 2012 to 2013.

She said, "I guess it feels different from the original because we performed this as a female-male duet. We interacted and sang along for the first time, and everything felt and sounded so unique from the past, and I felt as if Ye Dam matured so well. Anyway, what I meant is very wonderful! 'Wayo' was a very difficult song to arrange for Ye Dam, please listen to it a lot."

She added, "Also, please. listen to the rendition of the song he sang with me."

Bang Ye Dam is a musician under YG Entertainment and a part of the boy band Treasure. He got the role in 2012 for season 2 of the competition show program of SBS, "K-pop Star," in which he ended the contest as a runner-up. Ye Dam decided to join YG Entertainment as a trainee in June 2013 and managed to make his solo premiere on June 5, 2020, with the digital single "Wayo" after his July debut with Treasure.

Ye Dam competed for K-pop Star Season 2 of SBS in August 2012. BoA admired his singing abilities from the first round, compared to a young Michael Jackson. JYP Entertainment's founder, Park Jinyoung, commended his melody while fascinated by then-CEO of YG Entertainment Yang Hyun Suk, praising his voice that could attain the listener's soul. He placed runner-up against the Akdong sibling pair. Yang Hyun Suk then verified Ye Dam would join YGE in June 2013.

Ye Dam also appeared on the show on "WIN: Who's Next" with YG artists Lee Hi and Akdong Musician (AKMU), and on October 27, they performed "Officially Missing You." Ye Dam also featured on unaired footage from the series with Winner, formerly Team A, because of previous experiences with K-pop Celebrity alumni Lee Seung Hoon. He made a brief appearance on Winner TV in January 2014.

In the middle of preparation, on November 21, 2017, Ye Dam appeared alongside other co-trainees of YG Entertainment as its representatives on the Mnet survival program Stray Kids. On October 5, 2018, he appeared as an individual in the YG Future Strategy Office television series on Netflix.

In November 2018, Ye Dam took part in the YG Treasure Box Reality survival show, with 29 trainees competing in the new boy band to guarantee a spot.

And during the finals, Ye Dam decided to join the final group by putting the vocal squad first. At the end of the show, the boy team was classified as Treasure.

YG Entertainment officially confirmed on May 21, 2020, that prior to the official launch of Treasure, Ye Dam would then make his solo premiere with a digital solo originally scheduled for June, preceded by a video clip, as a gift especially those who have been waiting for K-pop Star 2, seven years since his appearance.

His new song won't carry out certain telecast promotional activities due to preceding comeback preparatory work with Treasure planned for July.
