Kim Ji Young Born in 1982

Recommended by Red Velvet's leader- Irene! The idol was asked by a fan what was the last book she had read during a fan meeting. Irene said she read Kim Ji Young Born in 1982, which was written by author Jo Namjoo when she was on vacation. This fictional book revolves around the deep-rooted misogyny in Korean society, especially in familial and work environments.

Shouting Out To The World

Who else can tell the story of your life more accurately than yourself? That's what legendary group BIGBANG thought when they published their journey to success. Shouting Out To The World was written by all members of the group, it talks about their experiences from debut up until 2009 (when the book was released), all the hardships and memories that only they know about.

Pieces of You

Written by Epik High's Tablo, Pieces of You, published in 20018, is a compilation of stories that Tablo wrote for an assignment when he was in university, which was approximately around 1998 to 2001. It tells of the personal perspective of a young Tablo.

Blonote

After the success of Pieces of You, Table got to writing again and published a second book titled Blonote in 2016. Rather than short stories, this time, he compiled cards and post-its that he once read in his radio show Dreaming WIth Tablo. It also includes handwritten notes from Tablo's celebrity friends and the author's daily thoughts and music.

Skeleton Flower: Things That Have Been Released and Set Free

One of the greatest achievements of the late singer is his book, which speaks of his personal experiences with songwriting. SHINee's Jonghyun wrote such a raw and heartfelt that will fill you with sadness but give you the fighting spirit to continue as well. Jonghyun retold what he felt and gone through while writing 12 different songs and some of the things that motivated him to finish those songs. The book includes images that were taken by Jonghyun himself.

Closer: The Story Started By Hyo Ri and Soonshim

The author, Lee Hyori, is one of the original female idols in South Korea. She published this book back in 2012. It's a compilation of photo essays by Hyori, where she tells her thoughts and experiences of living as a superstar at such a young age and her decision to step back from the spotlight and live somewhat generally after everything. It also includes usual topics such as her vegetarian lifestyle, her love for animals, and how she promotes animal rights.
