One might think such mothers should be conferred a medal. Still, the truth is, they deserve to be admired for setting an example so valuable. A lot of women think that the role of raising their children is so demanding and intense that pursuing anything on the side is impossible. California-based interior design consultant and entrepreneur, Desiree Busnelli, has raised a family and excelled as an entrepreneur.

Busnelli, who plunged from real estate to interior designing, believes that juggling different roles and multiple tasks have helped her evolve as a mother and an entrepreneur. Busnelli strongly believes and practices the concept of home-schooling her children, which in her opinion, is the best choice she has made so far. When asked if she ever involved her kids in her work, Busnelli shared, "It's generally thought to always keep children out of business. However, their involvement and perspective actually add a new perspective to things. The secret to success is to reach a point of equilibrium between raising your family and excelling as an entrepreneur."

At present, Busnelli is scaling her business in collaboration with the world-renowned designer, Emanuele Busnelli, and his team of experts. Desiree has worked with them in various capacities over the past decade. Desiree has evolved over the years and has recently launched her company with  JECHIJO Bespoke Design in the city of Milano, Italy. Within two years, she has amassed a range of notable clients from the world over who seek her help and expertise in refurbishing and beautifying their properties. She credits her business success to Emanuele Busnelli, who guided her from time to time and her grandmother, Kathleen Leavitt. Assisting her grandmother at the young age of 10, ignited her passion for immaculate interiors.

Desiree shares her advice for other mothers who desire to work but hold back due to lack of vision, time, or support, "In the beginning, it may feel overwhelming, but it will prove to be worth it." She says, her long-lived dream of creating happy and positive spaces for people drove her to become an interior decorator. After that, she never looked back. Apart from the joy of being financially independent, raising children simultaneously with a flourishing business is the highest form of gratification.
