The eternal 'follow your dreams' tale usually follows an underdog prodigy to overcome all odds for their passion. Swiss rapper Kevin Rehman's story is no different, except for one thing. The Albanian-born rapper has achieved a phenomenal scale of success, and now he's enabling others in the music industry to learn from his gains.

"Music has always accompanied and fascinated me - that's the biggest reason behind my success in the music industry. That and my unique blend of German and Albanian music", said Rehman in a recent account about his musical success story.

Rehman, better known by his stage name Faustbatal, has been one of the most-streamed rappers in Switzerland. The genius behind songs 'Scheinen' and 'Enemies,' recorded his first song at 16, appearing as an opening act for many prominent artists by the time he was 20.

"As a people's person, I took to music close to my German and Albanian roots from Gundeldingen, Basel. I found kindred sounds in NWA, Mobb Deep, and Biggie Smalls and soon realized that I wanted to produce rap music myself. That sense of belonging with music, treating it as a part, even a way for your life will bind you to it and lead you to success", he added.

Persistence is another step forward, Faustbatal concedes. He learned this when he decided to begin a career in medical cannabis at an early age. Or give space to distractions in his life and music. "You can't reach the top if you aren't willing to start from the bottom," he explained recently in an interaction with LA Progressive.

Consistent excellence is another. "Believe that every work you do is your best and then beat it with something better. Challenging yourself, your sound and style help you progress as a person, an artist, and a rapper", he said. "The fame just follows through," he smiles.

And then, there's some luck. "Believe you'll make it, and you'll have a dash of luck by your side. Put in your A-game and believe you've made it - you'll be there", he added.

As a digitally enabled artiste, Faustbatal continues to take these steps to chart his way forward. He only hopes that he makes it as far as his role models and becomes one for others on the path.
