The Featured Artist for BLACKPINK's New Single is Selena Gomez
The cat is finally out of the bag! The featured artist for BLACKPINK's upcoming single is American pop star Selena Gomez!
According to an exclusve report from MyDaily, BLACKPINK will be releasing their second pre-release single this August and will feature Selena Gomez. YG Entertainment had previously released a teaser for the group's new single, but left the featured artist a mystery back in July 23.
Fans had previously speculated that the featured artist would be Ariana Grande. Speculations started after Ariana Grande was seen liking BLACKPINK's Jennie's Instagram update concerning the new single release. Though Ariana Grande follows BLACKPINK, she does not follow Jennie, which means she had to search for her account just to like the post, further fueling speculations.

Additionally, the group was seen hanging out with Ariana Grande during their time in Coachella, which has led people to speculate it was her.
Others had speculated it to be Charlie Puth, as the male singer was seen supporting and complimenting BLACKPINK in the past. Charlie Puth had debunked the rumors on Instagram Live, however, saying that though he loved the group and would be excited if it were true, he is not the featured artist they teased.
BLACKPINK has also recently released details about their first full studio album, to be released on October 2. The album will be amply named "THE ALBUM." The poster shows a pink crown against a black backdrop, living up to the name BLACKPINK. The company explained why they chose to release the teaser two months in advance, saying,
"BLACKPINK will be focusing on promoting in the global market in 2020 through a strategic and thorough plan and executive. Our global project is partnered with Universal Music, the world's largest music group and is underway and progressing well, so BLACKPINK will be able to make an greater leap forward."
The company had previously stated that the album will contain ten new songs.
BLACKPINK previously made their first comeback in a year and two months with "How You Like That" back on June 26. The song was a global hit, trending worldwide and gaining recognition across the globe. The company has stated that they will be pushing through with a multi-phase comeback for the year to allow the group constant promotions and activities throughout 2020.

Their latest comeback, "How You Like That", broke the record for most-viewed music video within the first 24 hours of its release, smashing four Guinness World Records. The track is the fastest Korean song to reach double platinum on QQ Music.
They are currently the most followed girl group on Spotify and the most-subscribed music group and female group on YouTube.
