These K-Pop Idols Experienced Almost Being Kidnapped
The prize of fame is shockingly and unfortunately accompanied by certain dangers, and some K-pop idols have come across such fate. It's not even unusual to hear about sasaengs and their obsession urge them to do the extreme: kidnapping.
In the past, some K-pop celebrities have experienced almost getting abducted, and thankfully they evaded. Here are some of the kidnapping stories that involved K-pop idols.
Former Hello Venus Kwon Nara
The gorgeous Nara, who rose to fame after appearing in the hit series "Itaewon Class" with Park Seo Joon, shared on a TV Show that she was almost kidnapped. In one of the episodes of "Happy Together," she revealed how her father saved her from a man who came by and forcefully dragged her towards a van while she was waiting at a certain place where she was going to be fetched by her dad. She was so scared that she screamed so loud. Fortunately, his father came in and honked his car causing the man to run away.
EXO
Being one of the most sought-after boy bands to date, EXO was once almost kidnapped. Sasaeng fans planned to do so by renting a van that looks exactly like the vehicle that the boys use. Once they were done with their activity on that day, they headed towards the sasaengs' van but thankfully, their managers noticed the suspicious car and stopped the members from getting in.
Girls' Generation Taeyeon
Taeyeon is a really adorable woman and a really talented one, and a male sasaeng was so fond of her that he climbed on stage while the entire SNSD members were performing. She was dragged away from the group but the MC, Oh Jung Tae, and Sunny, who saw the scene, managed to stop the abduction.
Lee Bon
Lee Bon, a first generation idol, had a very unforgettable kidnapping incident way back in the 90s. She mentioned that while she was almost heading towards her car where her manager was waiting for her, then she suddenly blacked out. The next thing she knew, she woke up from an unfamiliar room. She could hear people arguing why she was brought by the person who took her. She realized that the kidnapper was a brother of an avid fan. She even asked the man to tour him around the neighborhood and eventually that person proposed to her, which she rejected many times. She also received a yellow luxury vehicle as part of the proposal which, she still denied.
VIXX
One of the most dramatic kidnapping of an idol group is when VIXX was in Kazakhstan. When the group was about to return to Korea and were heading the airport, the managers stepped out of the bus first and the driver suddenly closed the door and sped off with the K-pop idols who were still onboard the bus. They were asking why the driver had to do so, he said the boys will be driven to the airport lounge first. However, the next event surprised them as the boys were dropped in a lounge and they were treated with luxury. A high school girl came in to greet them, who is the daughter of the president of the country and is a fan of the K-pop idol group. It was also known that the young lady stans N the most.
