EXO Chanyeol Confirmed to Star in The Movie "The Box"
EXO's Chanyeol will star in the Korean commercial film "The Box"!
According to reports on the morning of July 30, Chanyeol will headline "The Box," a road movie of Jukeboxes, and is working on details. The film is a jukebox movie about a music tour of an aspiring singer and a producer who enjoyed the peak popularity of the past but is declining in his present life.
Famous theater director Yang Jung Woong, who was in charge of the opening ceremony of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, will take the megaphone.
Not only he will act, he will also work on music for the film and arrange pop songs and Korean songs that he will sing in person. Rumor has it that Chanyeol is currently working on music with Sehun, while also working on songs to sing in "The Box."

Chanyeol participated as a supporting actor in the film "Long Life Merchants Association" and starred in the South Korea-China joint film "So I Married an Anti-Fan," which was released in China. He also starred in the MBC drama "Missing 9" and in tvN's "Memories of The Alhambra."
"The Box" will mark his first time to play a leading role in a Korean commercial film. His appearance in a music movie will be good news for EXO-Ls, both in Korea and around the world, as he has been claiming international popularity along with his fellow band mates of EXO and his unit, EXO-SC.
"The Box" plans to start filming at the end of August after finishing major casting.
Meanwhile, Chanyeol and Sehun (EXO-SC) made headlines after they released their first regular album, "1 Billion Views," with the title track of the same name, on the 13th. Artists Gaeko of Dynamic Duo, Penomeco, Moon, and 10cm were featured in the tracks of the album.
With "1 Billion Views," the duo has amazingly garnered immense fame as they have reached the peak of several charts both in Korea and internationally. They recently met their fans through the virtual Dream Concert "CONNECT:D" on July 25, and have been communicating with EXO-Ls through online fan meetings and live-streamed games.
On July 29, KBS's Music Bank released a statement about the calculation error on the winner on the July 24th episode, which they awarded to BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" but was supposedly for EXO-SC's "1 Billion Views." An official apology message was posted on the music show's official website bulletin, explaining that they have done a miscalculation of the results.
