UDPATE: VIXX Hongbin Leaves Group following Rumors

VIXX Hongbin leaves his group following rumors speculated by netizens.

On the 7th, VIXX Hongbin's agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, said in an official press statement that the K-pop idol decided to leave his band on August 7. They also said that they had gone through a careful discussion among the group members and Hongbin. In the end, everyone chose to respect Hongbin's decision of leaving the group.

Thus, from this day on, VIXX will continue their future activities as an OT5 group. They also asked fans for an apology about the sudden news.

"Hello

 I'm a representative from Jellyfish Entertainment. We would like to give you an official statement regarding VIXX member Hongbin.

 First of all, we would like to thank all the fans who love VIXX before we tell you the sad news. Hongbin announced his intention to leave VIXX on the 7th and after careful discussion with VIXX members and Hongbin, we decided to respect the decision of Hongbin and the team.

VIXX will continue to work as a five-member group, and we apologize for causing concerns to VIXX's fans with the sudden news, and we ask for your continued love and support for all the VIXX members."

Earlier, fans have been thrilled that Hongbin updated the public of his possible solo activities. The post then led to netizens speculating that he is like likely out of VIXX. It was also noted that he deleted his account on the said fan café and announced his future activities on Twitch.

Hongbin has become a controversial figure earlier this year after going live on Twitch while being drunk and saying rude comments against other K-pop idol groups. He later went on another live stream and and asked apology about the incident. Aside from that, he also revealed that Leo immediately came in and asked him to quit the band. The singer then responded that he would leave the group if that's what they want.

VIXX Hongbin debuted as one of the members of the male K-pop group in 2012. He also ventured as an actor in 2014 through SBS' drama series, "Glorious Days." Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Hongbin studied in Dong-ah Broadcasting College, majoring in Musical. He also made collaboration with MONSTA X Hyungwon in May 2019.
