Police Investigators Summons 2PM’s Im Seulong in Line with Fatal Car Accident Involvement

2PM's Im Seulong is set to attend the summon sent by the police in line with his involvement over the fatal car accident.

The Police confirm that they plan to send singer Im Seul-ong to the prosecution. Earlier, the K-pop singer has caused the death of a pedestrian who was hit by his SUV while traversing on the street on a rainy day. According to the police on Wednesday, the Seoul Seobu Police Station is expected to send him to the prosecution for indictment. The prosecution's opinion means that the police judged that Lim was guilty. However, the police did not reveal the exact charges to be applied to Lim.

Police are reportedly planning to summon Lim as early as this week before handing him over to the prosecution next week. Im Seulong is suspected of accidentally killing a pedestrian who was jaywalking near Digital Media City (DMC) Station in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, on the night of August 1. At that time, the victim is said to have slowly walked out of the crosswalk where the red light was on and crashed into the vehicle.

Im Seulong had been questioned at the police station shortly after the accident. It is expected that the police will soon confirm the charges against the singer, considering the charges of negligent homicide and other crimes under the Special Act on the Handling of Traffic Accidents.

In the aftermath of the incident, Jellyfish Entertainment released an official statement to confirm their artist' involvement over the unfortunate event. They also sent their letter condolences and apologies to the bereaved family. I was adding that the K-pop artist was shocked after the tragic event.

Days after the incident, Joongang Ilbo revealed the accident's CCTV footage, which happened in a matter of seconds. As seen in the video, the victim was seen crossing the street while the traffic light is on red. He was dressed in black along with a black umbrella on a rainy evening. As he was almost approaching the end of the crosswalk, the singer's SUV was in speed but tried to break but was not able to do so, therefore, hitting the victim.
