CRAVITY Answers Fans’ Questions and Reveals Their Future Goals in Friendly Q&A
CRAVITYhas recently made a huge splash in the K-Pop industry, starting thing out with a bang with their latest release "Flame". The group is known as the super rookies for a reason as they experienced unmatched success for their comeback with the new album CRAVITY SEASON 2. HIDEOUT : THE NEW DAY WE STEP INTO, which showed their fiery will, intense performance and hard work.
Two of the members Serim and Alan even participated in the songwriting process of "Believer" and "Realize" showing their commitment to artistry and music. They also recently won the Rookie Award at the 2020 Soribada Best K-Music Awards as well as made their first win on the music program THE SHOW. They topped the Japan Tower Records Chart even before their official debut in Japan, further raising expectations for their music.
As a way of giving back to the fans, the group has now released a series of questions and answers, thanking their fans, discussing future goals and more!
Q. Right before your recent comeback, you won the 2020 Soribada Awards' Rookie Award, and immediately after your comeback, you ranked first in music broadcasting, Gaon Chart album chart, Hanteo Chart weekly record chart, and Japan Tower Records' total album weekly chart. How do you feel about this?
Serim: Actually, while preparing for a new concept this time, I was excited about it, but I was also nervous about our fans liking it. Fortunately, however, I am so happy that many people seem to like it. It seems that we are always loved by our Luvitys who always support us, so I want to reward you with a wonderful stage later.
Alan: Since I debuted in April, it wasn't long since I debuted, but I can't believe it because I've already received such a big award and received a lot of love. Thank you so much to the Luvitys and the Starship family. We will continue to work harder and become a group that shows progress!
Jeongmo: Actually, when we ranked first in 'The Show', I couldn't feel it. When we came down from the stage and congratulated each other and talked to Luvitys on V Live, I realized it only then. Without the fans, I wouldn't have achieved this result. Thank you so much.
Woobin: It's amazing and I'm very thankful for everyone paying attention to us like this from abroad. I don't know when we will be able to do overseas activities amid this pandemic, but considering that there are so many people who support us from abroad like this, no matter how tired you are, it's heartwarming. If fans in foreign countries wait for it, we promise that we will work hard to prepare the stage and visit!
Wonjin: When I heard the first place announcement in'The Show', I was very surprised, and because I was happy, my legs were shaking. I cried so much. I am happier now than ever. The next time I do the stage, I feel that all my energy will just pour out. I want to say that I am so grateful to the Luvitys and that I love them.
Hyungjun: As I constantly listen to amazing news, I wonder if this is just a huge hidden camera prank. I'm so grateful to Luvitys, and I'm continuing to pledge to work really hard to repay this great love.
Taeyoung: Every moment is like a dream! Whenever we are met with such great love, I want to meet the Luvitys quickly and I want to show our stage. I hope things get better soon.
Seongmin: I'm so grateful for such great love, so I think I'm working harder to show a really perfect image on stage. Right now, we are showing us on the air and communicating through social media and V live, but I want to meet Luvitys one day and say thank you and love them in person.
Q. You achieved a lot at the same time as your comeback, but are there any goals you want to achieve next?
Serim: Our goal is to get our albums and songs on the billboard charts! I want to show our songs and performances to fans around the world and be loved by many people. Someday, when our song is ranked on the Billboard charts, I'm going to be so surprised that I won't be able to do or say anything.
Minhee: The teamwork between the members is so good, so I want to work hard together for a long time. I want to have fun while trying out various genres and concepts with the members.
Q. After the COVID 19 situation improves, what would be the one thing you would want to do the most?
Seongmin: First of all, we want to do a concert. I performed at the 2020 Soribada Awards for the first time when the fans were in front of me, and I still remember that time. I'm happy just to imagine how fun and energetic it would be to have an official concert while making eye contact in front of all our Luvitys.
Jeongmo: Fan meeting! I want to show the stage to the fans and talk directly. In fact, when I have a fan meeting, I'm worried that I won't be able to say anything because I'll be more nervous. Still, I think it would be so good to meet and talk in person. Please wait a little bit and we'll show you a nice look!
Q. How do you think you have grown compared to your debut album "Cravity Season 1. Hideout: CRAVITY SEASON 1. REMEMBER WHO WE ARE".
Alan: We didn't think much about it, but when we compared the first stage to now, the teamwork between the members was definitely better, and it felt like we were enjoying the stage a lot. I think it's a good thing because it seems to be showing a better image than before. We'll show you a better look in the future, so stay tuned!
Woobin: Even to me, the members are really cool. Everyone dances better, and they seem to sing much better than before. After all, I think I was able to develop like this because the teamwork between the members was good. I think we were able to grow together like this because we care for each other and support each other.
Q. What do the members think about the performance of the title track 'Flame' in one word?
Hyungjun: When I summarize the performance of 'Flame' in one word, I think it's 'reverse charm'. I think you can get a natural and powerful feeling at the same time in the costumes and the visuals of the members. There was also a bow on the stage, and it was full of soft charisma. If you pay attention to this point, you will be able to enjoy the stage even more.
Wonjin: Chic and passionate! Usually it's very lively, but there are many members who look surprisingly chic when they are still. I think the members' natural chicness is contained in this 'Flame' stage. Also, as we are showing our burning passion in 'Flame,' you will be able to feel the passionate will.
Q. Following 'Break all the Rules', 'Cloud 9' and 'Flame', you have repeatedly transformed. Is there a concept you want to try next?
Taeyoung: I want to decorate the stage with a sweet and cozy atmosphere. It's a stage where you can feel excitement when you see it!
Minhee: I want to do a stage of lyrical sensibility. Most of the appearances I've shown so far are strong and charismatic concepts, so I want to put up an emotional stage.
Q. Billboard columnist Jeff Benjamin said that he was pleased to see the growth of the CRAVITY members that he saw as a trainee, and praised the members' participation in the lyrics and the new album. How do you feel?
Alan: I happened to see columnist Jeff Benjamin, who was in contact with Billboard K-pop news on TV, in the practice room as a trainee. Of course, it is amazing and grateful that this kind of personality is still paying attention to us. I put a lot of effort into writing the lyrics for the two songs 'Believer' and 'Realize', so I was even more nervous when I released it. However, thanks for watching and supporting me, I think I was able to finish my debut well and have the confidence to participate in the production of the comeback album. I want to say thank you again!
Jeongmo: Before my debut, I met Jeff Benjamin in the practice room to cover our seniors Monsta X. Back then, I was a trainee and I was dreaming of becoming a singer. But from that time until now, I'm so glad you've been watching with interest, and thank you for listening to the new album well. Serim: At first, I was very happy that I participated in rap making, and I hoped that other people would like it as much as I did.This is the first time I participated in the production of an album, so it was definitely great.
