BLACKPINK Charts No. 1 on iTunes in 57 Countries + Sees 700k Increase in Subscribers

The stunning music video for ''Lovesick Girls" is gaining extraordinary attention from fans in Korea as well as worldwide for the new mature charm that the girls are showing coupled with beautifully directed scenes.

"Lovesick Girls" topped the iTunes song chart in 57 countries, including the world's largest pop market, the United States. It swept the top of the iTunes song charts in European countries such as Spain, France, Sweden, Greece, Poland, Portugal and Norway, while the strength of North and South America regions such as the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Chile were prominent.

It ranks first in Asia, including Japan, China, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. In particular, in Japan and China, it has succeeded in'line-up', placing all the songs from the first regular album in the top 10 not only on iTunes but also on major local music sites.

The music video for "Lovesick Girls" reached 60 million views in 24 hours after the release, and the number of subscribers to BLACKPINK's YouTube channel has also increased by about 700,000 in a day after the release of the first regular album, and is currently reaching 50 million.

The Album is the first Korean-language studio album (second overall) by South Korean girl group BLACKPINK, released on October 2, 2020, through YG Entertainment and Interscope. The album was released for pre-order on August 28. It was BLACKPINK's first Korean release since Kill This Love (2019).

For the album, BLACKPINK recorded 8 new songs and worked with a variety of producers, including Teddy, Tommy Brown, R. Tee, Mr. Franks and 24. Written and recorded in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, the group stated that the album "shows a more mature part of us through singing not only about love but diverse emotions experienced by girls growing up." Musically a pop and EDM album, The Album is characterized by its themes of growing up and love.

The Album contains collaborations with Selena Gomez and Cardi B. It was preceded by three singles, all of which entered the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100: "How You Like That" was released as the lead single on June 26, 2020, while "Ice Cream" with Gomez was released as the second single on August 28, 2020. "Lovesick Girls" was released as the third single alongside the album on October 2, 2020.
