"Grand Mint Festival 2020" – The First in Person Music Festival in Korea to be Held at KINTEX

The Grand Mint Festival is one of the most relevant and popular music festivals in South Korea, drawing the attendance of thousands of fans every year. However, this year due to COVID restrictions, many limitations have been placed and the festival has been facing quite a number of challenges. The event was almost cancelled but revived again for the previously mentioned dates.

On July 17, it was announced that "Grand Mint Festival 2020" will be held in Olympic Park on Oct. 24 and 25, over the weekends. The news thrilled music lovers in South Korea as this would be the first in-person music festival they would be able to attend since the pandemic hit. Many were still nt certain however, that the festival would take place, considering the strict COVID-19 restrictions as infection started spreading once again in South Korea. However, the Grand Mint Festival 2020 has changed its location to Ilsan KINTEX for safe and smooth progress and confirmed its holding officially.

Mint Paper announced on the 11th that the first stage of social distancing was eased, and then 'GMF 2020' was finally confirmed and announced on Instagram. Mint Paper said, "Through the government announcement on this day, the alert level of the infectious disease crisis has been downgraded to the first stage." If quarantine measures are taken, it is possible to proceed with the event." He said, "Grand Mint Festival" will be held on the 24th and 25th as scheduled.

Mint Paper said, "As the expo and festival are operated similarly in terms of the long dwelling time and autonomous movement of visitors, we are establishing a plan to safely conduct the event through close cooperation with KINTEX and related organizations. He stressed that he would make every effort to continue the discussion and prepare additional quarantine measures."

GMF is Korea's representative popular music festival, celebrating its 14th anniversary this year. Kim Hyun Cheol, CHUNGHA, Paul Kim, Jung Eun-ji, Jeong Seung-hwan, Sunwoo Jung-ah, 10CM, Kwon Soon Gwan, Stella Jang, Park Hye Won (HYNN), and Daybreak have confirmed their appearance.
