These K-Pop Idols Overcome the Shadow of Their Celebrity Parents

These K-pop idols and celebrities are actually sons and daughters of popular Korean artists!

In this new era of the Hallyu wave, the children of the first-generation stars who paved the way for the new artists started their careers as celebrities.

Though their debut sparked doubts among netizens if they truly deserve their spot in the industry or just entered the scene because of their influence and background, the following K-pop idols and celebrities overcome the shadow of the success of their parents after proving their incredible skills and talents.

Meet these five talented and amazing idols and celebrities!

1. STAYC's Park Sieun

Park Si Eun, or better known as Sieun, is a former child actress who recently made her debut as a girl group STAYC launched by High Up Entertainment. Even before their debut, she's already a stellar young actress who played significant roles in popular Korean dramas, including "Still 17" and "Everything and Nothing."

She even won an honor for the award 'Best Young Actress" during the 2018's "SBS Drama Awards."

Meanwhile, other K-pop fans might not know that she's actually the daughter of Park Namjung! His father is a famous singer and actor who invented the "L Dance," a dance craze in the late '80s.

2. Z.Flat

Choi Hwan Hee, son of the late Choi Jinsil, debuted under the name of Z.Flat on Nov. 20, introducing his first self-composed track, "Designer." Prior to his debut, he was always labeled as "Choi Jinsil's son."

Thus, to escape the shadow of his late mother's success, he decided to change his name into Z.Flat as a screen name. He said, "I want to keep the name 'Choi Hwan-hee' as the son of my parents, but now I think I have met a new world under the name Z.Flat. I want to be recognized by people for my own skills."

Before taking her own life, Jinsil, was an iconic actress who was also referred to as the "Nation's Actress." She starred in over 20 dramas for 20 years.

3. BtoB's Im Hyunsik

BtoB's Hyunsik is not only an amazing idol, but his vocal ability is also top-tier! On top of this, the idol who debuted in 2012 is also an incredible songwriter and composer, who often write tracks for his team.

However, there is no doubt if where his skills and talents came from as his father Im Ji Hoon is actually a legendary folk singer!

4. SHINHWA Jun Jin

The first-gen K-pop idol SHINHWA's Jun Jin is the son of singer and back-up dancer Park Young Chul, also known as Charlie Park.

Though the male idol has an influential background, he has a painful family history. He once confessed that he aimed to be an idol to look for his biological mother, whom she met through his second stepmother, his father's third wife.

Jun Jin on Sept. 29 married his non-showbiz partner.

5. Former T-ara Beoram

Beoram, a former member of T-ara and is currently a solo singer and actress, has parents who are both popular in the industry!

His father is Jeon Yeong Rok, a famous singer in Korea around the 1970s and 1980s. Meanwhile, her mother is Lee Mi Young, who is a well-known actress in the industry. But this is not all, as Beoram's grandparents Hwang Hae and Baek Sul Hee are singers as well, while her younger daughter debuted as a singer, too!
