During a recent photo shoot in Miami for their upcoming album, Nicky Lee, Eddie Shin, and Jay "Flowsik" Pak, otherwise known as Aziatix, sat down with us to talk about not just their careers, but to share a few personal things with their fans - including Flowsik's undying 'love' for 2NE1 Dara.

What are your musical influences?

Nicky: Uh, I mean, growing up I listened to a lot of like, Stevie Wonder... and I grew up listening to R&B - Boyz II Men... and one of my favorite artists of all time is Michael Jackson. So, that's my inspiration.

Flowsik: And you know it's interesting because you know...

N: Rest in peace, Michael Jackson. Because, you know, I love him.

F: You know, when we was young, like we both, we grew up listening to both mainstream music in the States and, and in Asia as well. So I think our ears grew - as we grew, we had a chance to really get different styles of music. And I think that's what makes us very... I guess... unique? I mean, it's... we're very grateful because, you know, we can be versatile and create all different kinds of sounds.

Eddie: But we all like different things.

Interviewer: What about you, Eddie?

E: I like Babyface. Babyface, I mean, singer-songwriter. I started out as a songwriter first. He was my inspiration.

Can we get your two cents on K-Pop?

F: Well, I mean, the - well K-Pop is definitely starting to go global. And artists such as Psy, Wonder Girls... and I think to create this wave, it's not just one artist that can do it. I think, I think that there has to be a lot of artists making this big wave together. So I think unity is very important. And hopefully we'll be able to take it all the way with this.

E: And yeah, it's a testament for Psy's success to have, like that many people support him. It's like, you know it's like oh you know what? Maybe, you know, people are, people are ready for... for maybe this sort of... Asians coming into the mainstream US and everywhere, you know. And it's an exciting thing for us. We're really lucky to have this.

Any interests in collaborating with K-Pop artists?

Interviewer: Flow, I know that Sandara just started following you on Twitter...

F: Yeah

N: What?!

E: Woooo! Look at the smile!

N: His ears are turning red!

F: Hi, Sandara

N: Oh my goodness, look, he's speechless right now

Interviewer: Any plans to collaborate with 2NE1?

F: Oh, um, definitely if the

N: If the opportunity, yeah...

F: If the opportunity comes and the timing's right... sure. I mean, we're working on other collabs as well. It's in the works. I don't think the company wants us to say

E: I don't think none of that matters except Sandara for Flowsik

F: No, but seriously...

N: Yeah. He's stumbling on his words

F: No, but... they're cool, they're cool and they're all very talented

E: Yeah, we are too! What's up with that?

N: Alright.

Interviewer: So what about you two? Do you guys have your Korean music girl crush?

N: Yeah. I want to collaborate with Sandara too. You know?

E: Yeah

N: Is that alright, Flow?

F: No, no. That's... no, you can't do that...

N: Yeah... ok...

E: Yeah, she's taken... by Flowsik.

N: Next question?

What do you guys do in your free time?

N: Sleep.

E: Eat.

N: Yeah, and eat. Pretty much. But, you know, they like to play basketball. I say "they" because I like to just kick it on the side and watch them play basketball.

F: I remember Nicky, Nicky joined us to play ball one time. He played one game and he was like, "Yo, if I'm not here after the second game, I left."

E: Aw, it's (shakes head)

F: When the second game started, 30 seconds later, I look, and he's gone. Just disappeared.

N: Oh yeah, it was rough man... I couldn't handle it.

F: I really like fishing. Yeah. It's a time of self-reflection.

N/E: (laugh)

F: No, for real, for real. Yeah, you know, while the, while I'm waiting for the fish to get hooked on the bait, you know, it's a good time to really think about a lot of things.

N: What do you think about when you're fishing?

F: A lot of things. How everything started, new ideas of new songs... family, friends, you know, just - it's just time that I can have alone.

N: Is there a song that you wrote while you were fishing?

F: No way.

Interviewer: Not yet...

F: Not yet.

E: What the...?

Interviewer: What about you, Eddie? Where do you find your peace and quiet to be creative?

E: You know what? These days I jog. I get like a sort of runner's high. And I can't, you know, go a day without jogging. And these days I've been expanding sort of... I'm going to try to go for a marathon.

N: Expanding where?

E: Like my, my distance.

N: Oh... okay.

E: Expanding like, longer distance.

N: Didn't you want to run a marathon or something like that?

E: Yeah. I'm gonna try. I could run.

Interviewer: What do you listen to when you're running?

E: The wind.

N: (laughs) What? (laughs) ...What?!

Interviewer: Nicky do you have any special talents or abilities?

N: Yes I do! You know how I said, like, one of my idols is Michael Jackson? I can do his impersonation. I don't know if it sounds like him or not... but, I can try it... next time. (laughs) No, okay, I'll do a little bit for you guys. This is exclusive. But, um... okay... (Michael Jackson impersonation attempt) Okay, thanks, sorry - that's, that's my impersonation... (laughing) Next question?

Interviewer: You want to throw a moon walk in there, too?

N: No, but on a serious note, I'll do it for real. I wasn't gonna do it, but since Vickie givin' me that look like... Okay, I'm gonna do it. (real Michael Jackson impression) Alright, there you go.

F/E: (applauding) Alright..!

Message to the fans?

N: To all the Aziaddicts around the world, we thank you so much for your support. Whether you've been a fan since day one, or a fan since a couple hours ago, we're just so grateful and thankful to you guys and we love you. F: Yep!

N: And the record's gonna come out real soon. So this is just the beginning. And we're just so excited to take this journey with all you guys, so we thank you very much and we love you.

F: Yes. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for every single one of you out there supporting us. So we really, really thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts. And it's gonna be, like Nicky already said, it's gonna be a big journey and let's do this all together. And it's going to be quite an experience.
