NU'EST's Baekho has opened a campaign called "Baekho Blood Donation Day" amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

On Dec. 11, Pledis Entertainment said that NU'EST's Baekho has launched a campaign to encourage the people to participate in blood donations. The label also said that "Baekho Blood Donation Day" will take place on Dec. 13. Such campaign was created as there has been a decline in blood donations due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, Pledis shared that Baekho is promoting such campaign as blood donation became part of his life after his father fought against acute leukemia in 2015 but eventually passed away in 2017. The NU'EST member, who already received a blood donation certificate, said, "Please give me a lot of interest in this meaningful campaign which aims to help many people."

The singer added, "Blood cannot be replaced with artificial, so we encourage the public to take part in blood donation. It will be a more meaningful year-end if you donate with your family and friends." The campaign shows how dedicated NU'EST's Baekho is in saving people's lives, avoiding the same fate his father had due to leukemia. Not to mention, the singer has expressed his intention to participate in donating and become a daily blood donation ambassador.

Kang Dongho, better known by his stage name Baekho, is the main vocalist of NU'EST, one of the boy groups under Pledis Entertainment. Aside from that, he is also known as a previous contestant in the boy group survival reality show "Produce 101 Season 2" on Mnet back in 2017, as well as his bandmates Minhyun, JR, and Ren. In the show, he gained the nickname "sexy bandit" from netizens after performing a cover of BTS's "Boy in Luv." He is also praised for his stable vocals in the music removed (MR) stage.

NU'EST's Baekho was eliminated from the show in the final episode, while his bandmate Minhyun was able to secure a spot in the boy band WANNA ONE. Following his elimination, he and the remaining NU'EST members formed the sub-unit NU'EST W, which will promote until Minhyun's return. All five members reunited in 2019 and launched a special digital song titled "A Song For You" in celebration of their seventh anniversary of debut.

Also in 2019, the quintet held its very first solo concert after six years called "Segno" on April 12-14. This year, the male group launched its eight EP "The Nocturne" and its second Japanese album "Drive." Moreover, NU'EST is included in the lineup of performing artists for Big Hit labels' joint concert "2021 New Year's Eve Live," which will take place on Dec. 31 from 9:30 p.m. KST.

Meanwhile, Baekho was featured in the Men's Health Korea for the magazine's January 2020 issue for the second time. The first one was back in November 2018 after a fan sent a photo of Baekho to Men's Health Korea. This past September, NU'EST's Baekho was chosen as the hair care advertising model for the brand The Wood of J One Cosmetic.
