Meet 6MIX Members, A Pre-debut Girl Group in JYP Entertainment That Almost Debuted
Did you know that the original TWICE is supposed to debut with six members only?
In 2014 to 2015, a girl group planned by JYP Entertainment with a rumored name 6MIX almost debuted.
However, due to member lineup changes and delayed debut, the idea of the six-membered group was scrapped and they ended up disbanding even before their launch.
JYPE then introduced the reality survival show, "SIXTEEN," where the 6MIX members also joined into. Through this program, TWICE was born. While four of the original members succeeded to debut, the three members decided to leave JYP Entertainment to pursue different careers.
Who are the Original Members of 6MIX?
1. Lena
Ahn Celena, or also known as Lena came from Los Angeles, California. According to reports, the trainee was supposed to be the main rapper, but before SIXTEEN, Lena left JYP Entertainment.
2. Jisoo
Jisoo, hereinafter Jihyo, is one of the original members of 6MIX, who received 10-year training since she's a third-grader.
When she's young, she won second place in the Junior Naver contest and was afterward cast by JYPE.
3. Nayeon
Nayeon entered JYP Entertainment in 2010, but when she was a child she was scouted by the agency already after seeing her at a child model contest, but her mother didn't agree.
After secretly passing the open audition, she was immediately chosen for the debuting team.
4. Jeongyeon
Just like Nayeon, Jeongyeon was able to enter JYP Entertainment after going to their open audition in 2010. Prior to passing the 6th open audition, she actually failed in a JYP audition but persistent in becoming a singer, she tried again and succeed.
5. Sana
Mizatozaki Sana is a Japanese member of the pre-debut group who became a trainee of the company after being scouted while shopping with her friends.
6. Minyoung
Charlene Song, or also known as Minyoung is one of the longest trainees of JYP Entertainment as well. She has powerful vocals and an aspiring-composer. But after joining SIXTEEN and wasn't able to join the lineup, she left JYP Entertainment.
7. Cecilia
Cecilia is an Australian- Chinese former member of the group. She was a popular trainee and was also featured on GOT7's debut MV for "Girls Girls Girls."
Sana then joined the lineup after she left the company even before "SIXTEEN."
Where are the 6MIX Members Now?
According to reports, Lena who was featured in Sunmi's "Full Moon" is still catching up with the TWICE Members.
As for Minyoung, her fans and supporters speculated that she left Korea and went back to America to continue her studies.
Meanwhile, Cecilia is now doing well as an actress in China.
On the other side, Jihyo, Nayeon, Sana, and Jeongyeon are now members of JYP Entertainment's leading girl group, TWICE.
