IZ*ONE, BLACKPINK, ASTRO Eun Woo: K-pop Radar Releases 'Artist of the Month' + 'Monthly Social Ranking'
Numerous artists including IZ*ONE, BTS, BLACKPINK, ASTRO, EXO, and more entered K-pop Radar's listings for December 2020!
On Jan. 8, Friday, K-pop Radar announced that the global group IZ*ONE reigned as the "Artist of the Month" for December last year. As for the "Monthly Social Charts," ASTRO's Eunwoo, BLACKPINK Jisoo, BTS, ATEEZ, and more dominated the ranking with the incredible rise in their followers on various SNS accounts.
Moreover, Aespa, Red Velvet, Secret Number, and SuperM's magnificent achievements this January were presented as well, entering the "Upcoming Hot Issue" ranking this January.
The data were gathered starting Dec. 1 to 31 observing the analytics and statistics of the social media platforms of various K-pop artists and groups.
IZ*ONE Becomes "Artist of the Month" with Overwhelming Records in December 2020
According to K-pop Radar, "IZ*ONE showed the top girl group's aspects in each category, including SNS, music videos and albums," which explained the reason for selecting them as the month's artist.
IZ*ONE's official Instagram earned more than 74,000 followers in December last year. This is an 11.4-time rise compared to their record in November. This means that fans and the public's interest have surged since IZ*ONE's comeback in the same month.
In addition to this, the music video for IZ*ONE's title track "Panorama" surpassed 10 million views in just two days after its release following its last album, "Fantasy Fairy Tale," showing off its unrelenting popularity domestically and internationally.
According to the percentage of YouTube views of IZ*ONE analyzed by the K-pop radar, about 70 million views were counted in the 28 days after the release of "Panorama." Among them, 24.7 percent of them were from Korea, 18.6 percent in Japan, and 16.9 percent in Indonesia, showing the overall proportion of views around the globe.
Furthermore, IZ*ONE has achieved remarkable results not only in SNS and music videos but also in terms of record sales. Their fourth mini-album, "One-reeler/ Act IV," released in December last year, sold 190,000 copies in just one day, breaking their previous highest record. Since then, it has sold more than 355,000 copies, showing off its influence as a top girl group.

On related rankings, ASTRO Cha Eunwoo, who has recently been performing in "True Beauty" gained about 2.55 million Instagram followers in December, exceeding his cumulative 10 million followers, topping the artist ranking with most-followed Instagram on December.
Following him, BTS has an increase of 1.56 million followers, showing their consistent rise in popularity.
BLACKPINK then dominated the top 5, with Jisoo, Lisa, and Jennie ranking third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.
