AB6IX Kim Donghyun Goes Viral For His Kind Action Towards a Deaf Taxi Driver — This is What He Did

On Wednesday, Jan. 20, Kim Donghyun took to V Live to live stream for the fans, setting aside time to chit-chat with the fans and to update them with what he has been doing. There, he revealed that he had learned how to say "thank you" in sign language.
But what spurred him to learn it? According to Kim Donghyun, it was when he rode a taxi driver by a deaf driver! He explained that he recently rode a taxi, and when he got in, had asked the driver to confirm if he was in the right one. However, the driver did not reply to him. He did not even look at the idol! Kim Donghyun started to worry that he had done something wrong to anger the driver.
However, he soon spotted a note at the back of one of the seats which explained that the driver is hearing-impaired. The noted informs the riders that they must tap the shoulder of the rider if they wished to tell him something. Kim Donghyun revealed that after reading the note, he started to feel guilty that he assumed the driver was mad or in a bad mood. At that moment, he decided he wanted to learn how to say "thank you" in sign language.

Because he wanted to express his thanks to the taxi driver properly and respectfully, Kim Donghyun took to YouTube to search for a tutorial on how to say "thank you" in sign language and learned how to do it throughout his car ride in the taxi. When it was time for him to get off, he tapped the shoulder of the taxi driver and signed "thank you" to him. He revealed that the taxi driver's eyes shone happily when he saw that, causing fans' hearts to melt.
Kim Donghyun then recommended that the viewers learn sign language, as they might also end up riding a taxi that is driven by someone who is hearing-impaired. He tells fans that he is not telling them to do this to get compliments, but because he thinks it would be a nice thing to do for the taxi drivers.

This video soon went viral outside of the AB6IX fandom, with people compliment Kim Donghyun for his kind heart. Many praised the idol for not only having good looks but for being a good person as well. Others expressed how impressed they were with him for taking the initiative to search on YouTube and practice signing throughout his car ride. Meanwhile, numerous people revealed that they were going to learn how to sign "thank you" as well, just in case they get a hearing-impaired driver in their next taxi ride.
