Taecyeon Asks (G)I-DLE Soyeon to Write a Song for 2PM

Ok Taecyeon, a member of the boy group 2PM and an active actor, is currently receiving attention after sending (G)I-DLE leader Jeon Soyeon a love call to write a song for them. Keep on reading to learn more.

Ok Taecyeon's Love Call to (G)I-DLE's Soyeon

On Friday, Jan. 29, Ok Taecyeon surprised fans when he tweeted a video, titled "Jeon Soyeon, a real fan of 2PM sunbaenim." In the video, Soyeon is seen on multiple occasions talking about she is a "Hottest," or a member of the 2PM fandom.

In the past, the female idol has mentioned being a huge fan of the boy group and has even proved her loyalty to them by dancing to all the choreographies of 2PM's songs.

It seems news of this made its way to Ok Taecyeon!

The idol replied to his own tweet, saying, "Soyeon, now that things are like this, please write us a song." He ends his tweet with the Korean version of "LOL" or "HAHA," showing his happiness and amusement by the situation.

 

Jeon Soyeon is known as an all-rounded K-pop idol who is skilled in rapping, dancing, songwriting, and producing. Soyeon has produced numerous hit title songs for (G)I-DLE, including "HANN," "Senorita," and "Oh my god."

(G)I-DLE's fourth mini-album, "I Burn," was released on Jan. 11, is also mostly composed by Jeon Soyeon. She produced the album's title track, "HWAA." The aforementioned song wa sa huge hit in South Korea, debuting at number one on the Melon Chart and peaking at number four on the Gaon Digital Chart.

"HWAA" also peaked at number one on the Download Chart. It also peaked at number 5 on the K-Pop Hot 100 and number 8 on the World Digital Songs chart. Additionally, "HWAA" also charted at number 173 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart.

Will 2PM be Making a Comeback Soon?

Back on Jan. 14, reports started coming out revealing that 2PM plans to return to group activities after member Junho will be discharged from the military in March. Currently, the other five members are pursuing solo activities. Changsun was discharged from the military on Jan. 5, while Wooyoung was discharged back on Feb. 25, 2020. Jun.K was discharged on Jan. 2, 2020, while Ok Taecyeon was discharged from his military service on May 16, 2019.

Back in July 2018, Taecyeon left JYP Entertainment and signed with 51K, which houses powerhouse names such as So Ji Sub. Despite him no longer being part of JYP Entertainment, Ok Taecyeon affirmed that he will still be active as a member of 2PM and he will align his activities with JYP Entertainment.

As a result, the news that Ok Taecyeon sent a love call to Soyeon paired with the announcement of a 2PM comeback in 2021 has raisesd expectations. Attention is not focused on Soyeon, who is now a successful fan girl. As of press time, Soyeon nor CUBE Entertainment has replied so Ok Taecyeon's love call.
