On May 17, KST, it was previously reported that MOMOLAND's Hyebin and former UNB member, Marco, were in a relationship. Prior to the news, there has been speculations going around online communities and social media regarding the two artist's relationship since 2019, based on the pictures they post and the time these were posted.
They were speculated to be in a relationship after they were spotted wearing matching items, such as couple rings, the same padded jacket, necklace, watch, and more. In addition, they were at similar places at the same time, according to netizens.

MOMOLAND Hyebin's agency, MLD Entertainment, soon confirmed the relationship afterward.
However, a fansite of Marco had claimed that the singer had lied about his relationship with the MOMOLAND member. According to the fansite, @youandme0511, Marco entered a chatroom on KakaoTalk, where he personally denied the rumors surrounding his relationship status.

According to his messages, he explains that there has been rumors going around that he is dating, and that it's "totally not true," hence why he joined the group chat to tell everyone not to worry. In addition, he said that he "never had a couple ring, not since birth."
Following reports of him denying his relationship with Hyebin, Marco took to his Instagram account to apologize.
On his post, he apologized for worrying fans. "Yesterday, I disappointed those who believed and supported me with my words and actions in the open chat room. It is due to my oversight that I tried to reassure fans with falsehood," said Marco.
He feared that the news of his relationship could harm people, and as someone who was able to do activities due to the love of fans, he turned away from the fact that being sincere is a must. He is sorry to the fans who were hurt by his wrong judgment and false explanation.
