Chen Receives Flooded with Messages Asking Him to Leave EXO Following News of Second Child
On November 16, several South Korean media outlets released exclusive reports claiming that EXO member Chen and his wife are expecting their second child. Soon, SM Entertainment confirmed the news, saying, "It is true that Chen's wife is pregnant with the couple's second child."

Back in January 2020, Chen announced his marriage to his non-celebrity girlfriend. In his announcement, he also announced that his wife was pregnant. Three months later, Chen's wife gave birth to a baby girl. In October of that year, Chen enlisted in his mandatory military service.
Due to the unexpected announcement, a significant number of EXO supporters expressed their disappointment and anger towards the idol. Though Chen apologized to EXO-Ls through a handwritten letter, when he acknowledged the fan's emotions over such surprising news, it was too late for many South Korean EXO-Ls, who had already turned their backs on the idol.

During news of his marriage and first child, several South Korean EXO supporters gathered together in front of SM Entertainment, demanding the label to withdraw Chen from the group immediately. However, SM Entertainment did not mind these claims, and Chen joined EXO's latest comeback, "Don't Fight the Feeling," in June 2021.
Now that Chen is expecting his second child, many took to the internet to share their negative response to him staying in the group.

Some of the comments EXO member Chen received include, "Okay, congratulations, but I really hope you leave EXO now," "You are not thinking about your fellow EXO members at all. It is really time for you to part ways with them," "Seriously, we do not want a dad as a K-pop star. Do you think anyone wants to fangirl over a dad?!"

EXO Chen Recent Activities
EXO member Chen enlisted as an active duty soldier for his mandatory military enlistment on October 26, 2020. Prior to his enlistment, Chen released the digital single titled "Hello" on October 16 as a farewell gift to fans.
