What are the Most Popular Music Videos in Korea This 2021? YouTube Reveals Top 10

On the first part of YouTube Korea's 2021 settlement list, top-tier Korean acts IU, BTS, aespa, TWICE and more proved their domestic fame through their releases this year that dominated the video-streaming platform!

On December 2, YouTube Korea announced the 2021 Settlement of Top 10 Music Videos and Videos that became the most popular among domestic users.

IU, BTS, aespa & More: Top 10 Most Popular K-pop MV in YouTube Korea 2021

In the rankings, Lim Young Woong beats K-pop idols and groups with his emotional trot track "My Starry Love" as it ranked No. 1 in the music video that Korean YouTube users watched the most this year, evident of the increasing popularity of Trot in the country.

Among K-pop artists, BTS secured their spot as "biggest boy group" and "biggest K-pop group" in Korea with two most-streamed MV in the top 10.

BTS' "Butter" and "Permission to Dance" ranked No. 2 and No. 4, respectively.

In particular, outside Korea, the septet's "Butter" attracted worldwide attention by topping Billboard's main singles chart "Hot 100" for a total of 10 weeks.

The music video of "Permission to Dance" also gained positive global response for using international sign language to reach a wider audience particularly those who people who are hard of hearing and deaf.

Following BTS, "Nation's Sweetheart IU" topped the list among female artists with two songs in the list.

 Her releases "Celebrity" and "Lilac" ranked third and fifth in popular music videos, which proved that the singer is truly loved in Korea.

aespa's "Next Level", which became a dance craze in Korea this year, ranked sixth in the popular music video.

BLACKPINK Rosé's solo song "On the Ground" also ranked seventh.

Brave Girls' "Chi Mat Ba Ram," the representative of reverse driving, came in eighth, imprinting its presence.

 In addition to them, Oh My Girl's "Dun Dun Dance," which features addictive melodies ranked ninth.

 Lastly, TWICE's "Alcohol-Free," which unveiled a lovely summer atmosphere completed the Top 10.

IU Also Top YouTube Korea's Most Popular Videos in 2021

Aside from her reign in the rankings for the most popular K-pop MV in 2021, IU also grabbed first place for the most popular video in Korea overall.

In particular, the female singer won the most popular video that domestic YouTube users watched this year through her video "Dingo Music's [4K][Special] IU's killing voice live!" wherein she showed a medley of her popular tracks, "Every End of the day," "Meaning of You," "Twenty-three," "Palette," "Autumn Morning," "BBIBBI," "Blueming," "Coin," and "Lilac."

As of the 3rd, the video amassed 33 million views since its release in March, a totally rare view counts for a Dingo Music content.
