Which Female Group Do You Want to Join 'Queendom' Season 2? Mnet Confirms Plan, to Possibly Air in the First Half of 2022
Mnet recently confirmed "Queendom Season 2." Although there is still no announcement on the final lineup and its broadcast yet, potential viewers discussed the possible roster who will compete in the reality survival show.
Following rumors that Mnet will launch the second season of the hit reality survival show, "Queendom" on various online communities, the music channel confirmed the news on December 14.
Mnet Confirms 'Queendom' Season 2; To Possibly Air in March 2022?
When "Queendom" concluded with favorable reviews that it was a rediscovery of a girl group in 2019, viewers wished for a sophomore season. However, Mnet took a tempo break with "Road to Kingdom" in 2020 and "Kingdom: Legendary War" in 2021.
Then, on December 13, rumors spread around an online community that Mnet's "Queendom" season 2 will air in March. Producer Park Chan Wook, who directed the show's male counterpart "Road to Kingdom" last year, will be reportedly in charge of directing and broadcast.

Soon enough, Mnet announced its plans for a sequel though nothing had been decided yet.
"It is true that 'Queendom 2' is being planned, but nothing has been decided. The timing of the formation, the content of the composition, the directing PD, etc. are still undecided," Mnet said.
IVE, STAYC, ITZY, Brave Girls and More: Prospective Lineup to Join Mnet's 'Queendom' Season 2
Following the news, fans of the show expressed their delight on social media sites. In fact, some even named the girl groups that could join the season's lineup.
According to one, rising girl groups from small to mid-sized companies such as Weeekly, WJSN, LOONA, Dreamcatcher, CLC and Fromis9 have a huge possibility to appear on the show.

Meanwhile, according to Korean media outlets such as OSEN, IVE (where Wonyoung and Yujin belong) as well as ITZY could appear the show.
On Twitter, there is also discussion if MOMOLAND, STAYC and reverse-running groups such as Brave Girls and Laboum will try to join the show.
There are also predictions that DIA, EXID, aespa, Everglow, Purple Kiss, Cherry Bullet, LIGHTSUM and Rocket Punch will possibly appear "Queendom."
On the flip side, there is anticipation if it is possible for top-tier groups such as SNSD, Red Velvet, TWICE and BLACKPINK to join as well, given that lineups from the previous seasons shocked K-pop fans with the appearance of some of the well-known groups in the K-pop industry.
Nevertheless, the music industry is expected to heat up again in the first half of 2022.
